Question about 1997 Toyota Camry
I have a 97 camry le and my rear light failure warning light indicator came on during the day. When I shut my car off and turn back on it goes off and then comes back on after a while. I check all my lights and everyone is still working. Any ideas on what is wrong. Thanks for the help.

take the bulb back out have someone sit in car apply brake get your self a circuit tester and check to see if this circuit is carrying efficient 12 volt current! some times in cold weather these bulbs get hot with long period of breaking and when released condensate and rust begins and you get what you have perhaps bad socket! this would be a ideal location to begin and probably end,

3 things. 1st remove the bulb from the 3rd brake light and see if there is any black in the glass. If so, replace it. If not check your other stop lights bulbs for the same.
2nd. Check the wires on the drivers side trunk hinge to see if any are broken and repair if necessary
3rd. You may have a bad light warning module located in the trunk on the drivers side rear quarter panel behind the covering.

the camry has struts on the rear they have to be removed and put in a strut spring compressor to hold the spring then you can remove the top nut and replace the shock part of the strut
