Get a fuse tester, which looks like an icepick with a wire coming out the back. Clamp the wire to something metal to make a ground and touch the tops of the fuses which should have small metal prongs on the tops. If the handle of the tester lights up then the fuse is good and if it doesn't then the fuse is bad. Try this out and let me know.

The fuses can be in 2 different places in the car either under the drives side of the dash or possibly on the end of the dash and can be accessed after opening the door. If they are on the end then the panel should have fuse identifiers on it. The lighter fuse should not be linked with anything else. If all the fuses are good then you may just need a new lighter element which is what the lighter knob goes into. Try using the fuse tester to check the element in the center of it should be a small metal piece which would light up the tester if it is still getting power, if not then there you go.

My child pushed in the cigarette lighter until

you could be lucky and the fuse blew, and it could be a burned wire, check the fuse panel and replace the fuse if blown, if it blows again you have to fix the wires, and possible the cigarette lighter if it got damaged

No power to cigarette lighter/power outlet (front & rear)..

Replace the 15 amp ACC fuse that is in the fusebox under the dash. See if this eliminates your problem.
