If you have the jack and handle that came with the truck the handle/crank piece should fit through a hole in the bumper on the right side if i remember right then just crank it counter clock wise to lower it. Wose case crawl under the truck with a big pliars and turn it down that way.

The tools to remove the spare tire should either be behind the bench on the floor or wall, or under the rear seat (king or crew cab) in a trap door. The instructions for removing the spare are printed on Tyvek paper and should be zip tied to the tools.
Hope this helps!

I have problems with the gas in a 2003 silverado cab 1/2 4.8 engine what can i ado to fixed

Wore tires and uneven tire pressure can make you loose extra gas. Bad spark plug can to. If your talking about stalling, you may have a clogged fuel filter or bad injectors. What exactly is going on?

How do i get my spare tire down? special tool? where?

Hello! Here is procedure to remove spare tire...Guru...saailer

  1. Park on a level surface and put on the emergency brake. If the car is near the side of a road, switch on the hazard lights.
  2. Locate the tire repair kit. It consists of a jack, a jack rod and a wheel nut wrench. In the regular cab, pull the entire seat bench forward. The tools are located behind the drivers seat. The King cab model has a tool case located directly behind the driver's seat. The Crew cab stows the tools behind the back bench. Pull the bench forward and remove the tools.
  3. Insert the square end of the jack rod into the square hole in the nut wrench. This gives the jack rod a handle.
  4. Find an oval shaped hole in the back of the truck under the middle of the tailgate. Look through the hole and find the winch for the spare tire. It is a circle with two notches.
  5. Insert the T-shaped end of the jack rod into the hole. Slip the T-shape into the double notched circle of the winch.
  6. Turn the jack rod counterclockwise to lower the spare tire to the ground.
  7. When the tire is completely lowered to the ground, remove the center retainer chain and pull the tire out from under the truck.
  8. Wind the jack rod clockwise to completely retract the retainer chain

I have a bad fuel pump and am going to replace it in my 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500. It is a Z71 Shortbed extended cab. I have read a couple of posts from different people who say it is easier to remove...

definitely easier to remove the bed....unless you like the taste of dirt :-)....round up 3-4 buddys and everyone grab a corner after the bolts, ground straps, and fuel filler are loose, pick it up and set it back a foot or two (on the tires and bumper). That'll give you plenty of room to work.
