This service procedure is for setting base ignition timing. Refer to underhood emission sticker for any additional service procedure steps and/or specifications.
These engines require a tachometer hook-up to the check connector-see illustrations. NEVER allow the tachometer terminal to become grounded; severe and expensive damage can occur to the coil and/or igniter.
Some tachometers are not compatible with this ignition system, confirm the compatibility of your unit before using.
This jumper will be used repeatedly during diagnostics in later sections. Take the time to make a proper jumper with correct terminals or probes. It's a valuable special tool for very low cost.
SOURCE: how to change tail light brake switch on 1994 toyota corrolla
Normally this is caused by a problem with the brake light switch. If you don't take care of this soon you will have a dead battery, so try this. Look under the dash at the brake pedal. There will be a switch mounted on the backside of the pedal/arm that has a push button switch inside. Have someone stand behind the car and check to see if the brake lights go off when you pull the brake pedal away from the switch toward the driver's seat. If they do, then you need to turn the outer housing of the switch a little bit to make it pull away from the brake pedal when the pedal is in its resting position.
Sorry, I can't remember which way to tell you to turn it but a few turns should be all that it takes. If that doesn't work then you may need to replace the switch but they rarely fail.

The mechanic should check on the Idle and adjust the Idle .the car is vibrating because of the Idle is low and the engine can't do to move very easy .there is low fuel coming from the fuel pump going to the engine. The transmission of the car don't have a problem because of you just change the oil . But the Idle has to be adjusted until the car will not vibrate.
SOURCE: how to adjust rear brakes shoes on toyota corrolla
the shoes on drum brakes should auto adjust by backing up and applying pressure to the brake pedal (you may hear a clicking noise from the springs on the adjustment stars as they turn). If this does not work, the mechanism may be broken, aligned improperly or stuck by corrosion. Most drum brake assemblies have an access hole in the drum or backing plate to make manual adjustments, comment back to me if u have these access holes and I will walk you through the procedure...(check your shoe lining thickness as you may just need new brake shoes)
