To tell you the truth i have a prelude myself, the reason why it does that is because it needs new brakes or to align them. it used to happen to me until some mechanic told me that, when i change the brakes the shaking went away or check the brake fluid.

Honest opinion here.....There could be a number of things wrong with your car. I would take it to Midas or somewhere similiar and have them tell you whats wrong for free then fix it yourself if you can. Thats how I would isolate this problem. A little bit of time at Midas or somewhere simliar will save you time and take all the guesswork out of things.

Good luck to you..

Sincerely,

JC

If it is a howling noise it is most likely your bearing (kinda sounds like an airplane)

You should also check the tires for broken belts and bulges. As well as that they are properly balanced.

If your talking about a whining noise while driving over 20mph, it's probably a wheel bearing noise, I have written an article and created a video about wheel bearing noises, it will give you a better understanding of what it is and the noises it can make.

I have a 2004 honda civic and it makes a droaning noise when i change gears, coudl this be an internal gearbox fault? i also have a constant screaching noise when driving when i slighly move the steering...

Pilot bearing or a throw bearing is what makes the noise while shifting gears and as for the steering noise, you either have low steering fluid or the steering pump belt is loose.

Noise and vibration from right side wheel area.

Sounds like a possible wheel bearing failure. Jack that wheel up and grab the tire at the top and bottom and shake/yank it hard - you should have basically no movement out of it. If you shake it and find looseness, that's a bad wheel bearing.

I need a diagram of the front suspension and sway bars 91 honda

if its noisy, something is bad wrong. lift it up and have one your kidsturn the steering wheel and look for anything loose. I would not have purchased any car that had been hacked like that. ck ball joints, ck for any loose bolts, ck everything you can see. dont drive it intil you find and repair what is wrong. without knowing what is wrong, i would say it coulld be dangerous.

Metallic jingle in the front wheel area while turning. My guess is wheel-bearing.

Wheel bearings usually make grinding noises, check your cv shaft first.

Consider purchasing a mechanics stethescope, it will greatly help to diagnose noise issues like this one.

Shaking steering above 60mph

First we need to know where is the shaking noise coming from?Is your car a 4X4?If noise comes from a driven wheel it can be the differential system or bearing also.Usually the speed you have specified is pointing to wheel alignment problem. Also can advice to go to a different tire shop and check wheel alignment again, also ask the mechanic to check the state of your wheels and tires. One of them may be damaged .

Usually the indication is around corners the CV joint will make a popping sound. You can also tear the boot on the CV joint, but my theory is just to drive it until it makes noise. No sense in changing it when there is still life in the old one.
Really the only thing that goes wrong is the CV joint portion of the shaft wears out, except accidents and other unforeseen instances.
You can buy lifetime warranty axle shafts from Auto Zone or Advance and those kinds of parts stores.

Car steering

There could be numerous problems going wrong. Your car is rear wheel drive so it could very well be a bad wheel bearing. If it is extremely loose it can cause a shake in your steering wheel. You may want to check on the condition of your tires and rims especially the left front. A bad tire can cause a shake and pull. If you know how to use your car jack you can try jacking the vehicle up, and put both hands on your front wheel and move it manually to see if there is looseness. Most shops only charge about 1/2 hour to shake down the front end. BMW parts are expensive so be prepared!
