If your Oil Pressure Sending Unit went bad, it will do this

If you have a Blockage in the Oil system, it can do it

If you are low on oil, it will do this

If you have done Damage to the Engine, it can do this

If you increase your oil to 20W-50 and the light goes off, you have a worn journal or Bearing Wear

are u sure that its the clutches-auto trans arecomplicated--the pump may be bad causing oil to stagnate and burn from overheatin the unit--if u hav trans rebuilt-probly needs reprogram--send ur issue to [email protected]

This light usually indicates that the oil change is due.If an oil change was recently performed the light was probably not reset.

Turn the ignition key to the RUN position. Fully push and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. If the CHANGE OIL SOON light flashes 2 times, the system is reset. However, if the light comes on and stays on for 5 seconds, the system did not reset. Repeat the procedure if the system does not reset.
This is for a 2001, I couldn't find info for a 2005, also said that a phone call to the dealer should answer it over the fone.

Just Check The Drain Plug , Then Drain the Old Oil, Before Filling It With New Oil Check The Oil Quantity From Your Manual Book .And Add Same Amount Of Oil. Thanks.

Not a problem. Comes on based on miles, so you should also change the oil. But you need to manually reset the counter.

Chevrolet Uplander, 2005-06 Chevrolet Venture 2001-05
With the ignition key in RUN but the engine off, repeatedly push the trip/reset button until OIL is displayed on the Driver Information Center (DIG).
Once “OIL” is displayed, push and hold the trip/reset button for five seconds.
The number will disappear and be replaced by 100 (indicating 100% oil life remaining).
Turn the key to OFF. If the “CHANGE ENGINE OIL” message comes back on when you start your vehicle, the engine oil life system has not reset.
Repeat the procedure.

Equinox 2005-onwards
Turn ignition to the "ON" position. Slowly depress accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. "CHANGE OIL SOON" lamp will flash. Turn ignition off.

TURN THE IGNITION KEY TO RUN WITH THE ENGINE OFF.FULLY PRESS AND RELEASE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL THREE TIMES WITH IN FIVE SECONDS.YOU HAVE TO DO THIS MORE THAN ONE TIME.ITS NOT GOING TO RESET FIRST TRY BUT DO THIS PROCEDURE.UNTIL THE CHANGE ENGINE OIL LIGHT WILL FLASH WHILE THE SYSTEM IS RESETTING.TURN THE KEY TO OFF.WAIT A FEW SECONDS.START CAR UP TO SEE IF CHANGE OIL LIGHT COME BACK ON.IF YES YOU HAVE TO TRY THE RESET PROCEDURE AGAIN.
