Question about 2000 Buick Regal
The problem is the fuel pump resistor. The connector is located behind the passenger headlight. It is a white plastic plug about 2-3 inches long. Unplug the connector and jump it out. The car will start and run until you can replace the resistor.

THERE IS A SMALL FILTERING SOCK ON THE PICK UP TUBE ON THE FUEL PUMP IN SIDE THE FUEL TANK ATTACHED TO THE FUEL PUMP. IF YOU TEND TO LET YOUR TANK RUN TO EMPTY ALL THE TIME THE FILTERING SOCK WILL PLUG UP AND STARVE THE ENGINE OF FUEL. IF YOU WAIT A WHEIL AND START IT AGAIN IT WILL PROBABLY RUN ONLY MOMENTARILY UNTIL THE FILTERING SOCK PLUGS AND CUT THE FUEL SUPPLY. YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THE FUEL TANK TO REMOVE THE SOCK. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. YOU CAN HAVE A GARAGE SO THIS FOR PROBABLY AROUND $300.00, OR TRY IT YOURSELF.
