They make a freeze plug that is a squeeze type it has a bolt in the middle of a rubber plug and all you have to do is put it in and tighten the bolt up. Its easy and very handy and it is very dependable

1996 Chevy Astro Van--"Will not

I would check the rotor very carefully. They tend to burn a hole through the plastic under the center tab. It's hard to see sometimes. The spark follows that path instead of to the wire terminals. You may just want to try a new distributor cap and rotor.

you may be getting water on your computer leads. something is getting wet. check all spark plug wires. take off 1 spark plug wire at a time as engine is running replace if no change in sound. if you have a bad plug or wire this will be the best way to find out. should be an easy fix.

How to replace freeze plug G20 van

Most drive into place. To get the old one out drive one part or edge in this will tip the opposite side out. Take hold with a pair of good pliers or vise grips and pull it out. Drive new one into place after putting sealer on the outside edge. It is possible to replce with a rubber expandable plug if it is hard to get to. Talk to your local auto parts store for the best style of plug for your needs.

The freeze plug you replaced was due to rust or was it pushed out by freezing temperature? These plugs are not designed to protect the engine block from cracking during freezing temperatures, they are there to remove the sand from the block after casting it. I would drain your system completely and flush out the radiator thouroughly and fill with plain water, then run the engine and see if oil gets in the water, if it does and the plug was out due to freeze, then your block is probably cracked, although you could just have a head gasket leak. Oil pressure (40psi) is higher then water pressure (17psi), so getting oil in the water is always more prominent than the other way around. Flush out the system and let me know if oil returns to the water, hope this helps

there are a couple of ways to fix the problem. first you can use pepper to plug the hole if it is a small leak. If it isn't, then use radiator stop leak. You can find this at a parts store

Leaking coolant

freeze plugs are supposed to pop out if the coolant starts to freeze in order to keep the block from cracking. the holes the plungs sit in are als used to cast the engine. see a mechanic and tell him you need a freeze plug replaced and show him which one it is, it won't cost more than $35. mmmmmmmm they are really hard to replace but most likelly is goin to be a intake gasket, i do recomend you to call arrown the auto repairs and ask for a pressure test to the cooling system
this test is not that expensive and will tell you exactly where is the leak coming from, but on this type of vehicles i badly see a freeze plug leaking.
