Vibration in a 91 Jeep Cherokee Laredo

I have a vibration problem in my 91 Jeep Cherokee that I can't seem to make go away. I have balanced the tires, replaced u-joints and I even found that the torque converter was hanging loose on the the fly wheel. Fixing those things all helped but there is still a high frequency vibration going on that is most noticeable above 60 mph. I believe the problem to be somewhere from the transfer case forward because it is there in 2WD but when I put the transmission into temp 4WD it goes away.
Any ideas?

A bad u-joint makes a higher frequency sound /vibration than say an unbalanced tire. If you have the v-8, you have all wheel drive and the front driveshaft is always driven. Crawl underneath and wiggle both front and rear driveshafts, if one move significantly more, you've found the culprit. Go ahead and replace all the U-joints at that point.

What causes slight vibration?

sounds too much like a wheel imbalance, check all the wheel nuts are tight too (I know it sounds stupid but it has happened to me) some off-road tyres have a speed limit set to around 50mph.

its a shot in the dark, but i had a 91 jeep cherokee with 31 x 10.50 tires on it, and it eventually started vibrating at around 55-65 mph, turns out it was the tires being worn out. otherwise, could be harmonic balancer starting to go.

Vibration from about 40-60 mph is usually attributed to wheel balancing, but the onset when you hit a bump seems to indicate play in the steering linkages (tie rods etc) or suspension members and stabiliser bar rubbers but you had that all checked out, that brings us back to the wheel balancing.

2004 jeep grand cherokee laredo after driving through snow drift vibrates and is loud

I do it all the time. the reason that happens is snow packs in the rims and tires and causes the tires to be out of balance so at speed they will vibrate and make a louder road noise. solution bring it to the car wash and spray those tires down.

you are getting an oscillation .you need to put the front tires on the back and try it again as it could be bad tires.
if it is still the same, put the vehicle on a hoist and check the tire/rim play side to side and up and down.
turn the wheel and check for bearing noise.
common things are wheel balancing, tires, tie rod ends, worn axles and bearings.
