Question about 1994 Ford Explorer Limited

1 Answer

1994 Ford Explorer, both back doors wont open. I think the child locks are locked on, but I can't open them from the outside either, I have the door skin off of one of them. Is there a pin or latch I can access inside of the door?

If you can open the door from the outside of the truck when you look at the backside of the door you should see a little opening for the child safety locks one way locks the door so it cant be opened from the inside the way other way unlocks the safety latch the door should be able to be opened from the inside and outside of the truck

My back doors wont open

If your back doors won't open from the inside then the child proof locks maybe turned on. Open the door from the outside and look at the edge of the door near the lock for a small lever or screw setting for the child proof lock. Tun off the child proof lock and then you can open the back door from the inside.

My back doors wont open, the child safety locks wont unlock my back doors

Your post is somewhat confusing, BUT with child locks engaged, you can only open the door from the outside, when unlocked.

How can you get child locks off? We don't have a code to punch into driver's door and we have to open doors from the outside to get them open, while we are on the inside. Please help, we bought the car for...

on my 1999 ford expedition, there is a switch or lever on the inside visible side of door when open that can change the mode for child locks on or off.

The code to punch on the driver's door has nothing to do with the child locks.

Good luck on this.

The child locks are stuck it only opens from the outside

there is a slider switch on the door(between door and frame) that you can lock or unlock the child locks to prevent them from opening the door from inside but still can open door from outside----just slide the lock switch to enable or disable the child lock.

if they are stuck/stiff---you may have to remove the door panel for repair.

Usually they work free with a liitle lubricant(WD-40) to slide easier.

Back door wont open.

Are you moving the child safety lock or the door lock? Only the door lock itself should prevent the door from being opened from both inside or out. The child lock is typically a switch on the door near the door pin halfway down the door.
