Oil leak on driveway coming from front of engine

Dear Sir,
Here is the oil leaking Problem Identifying Technique

Engine oil leaks from the valve cover gasket are common.

  • The intake manifold plenum gasket may leak and cause increased oil consumption/burning and a spark knock during acceleration; the gasket should be replaced.
  • External oil leaks from valve cover gaskets, intake gaskets (front or rear), and the rear crankshaft (rear main) seal area are common. The rear main seal is an unlikely source. Normally, the bearing cap mating surfaces (as well as the sealing surface between the oil pan and bearing cap) are the source for the leaks.
  • Engine oil leaks at the distributor can be misdiagnosed as leaks from theintake manifold seal, oil pan gasket, or rear crankshaft (rear main) seal. A revised distributor is available if oil is found inside the distributor.
  • If the oil filter casing shows signs of distortion from excessive oil pressure, theoil pump should be replaced.
  • Often misdiagnosed as a leaking oil filter gasket, the oil filter adapter can seep from between the adapter and engine block.
  • Carbon buildup on the top of the piston is common. As the buildup increases with mileage and over time, symptoms may vary from light ticking, to ticking/hammering, to hammering/knocking noises. Fuel injector cleaner often solves the problem.

1996 chevrolet impala ss oil leak rear of engine

Is it engine oil or transmission fluid? Is it driven often or does it sit in the garage? If engine oil, then possibly the rear seal is leaking into the bellhousing as you drive and then draining on the floor after you stop. If ****** fluid, then possibly front seal on ****** is leaking. If car sits for long periods of time the input shaft seal can allow fluid to leak past the shaft. This usually will fix itself when driven. Can't promise it will fix itself permanently. Will not be an easy fix if either seal needs replacing (or cheap).

Daewoo tacuma engine revs up when sitting stationary

Hi I am Vortash my first advice to you is change your garage to just give up on a customer is a disgrace , maybe you should find it difficult to pay their bill and see how they like it .
This sounds to me like you have an air leak at either the inlet manifold or in the Brake servo chamber , the fumes I am assuming are fuel based ? and not exhaust fumes it could also be one of the sensors on the maifold giving the ECu the incorrect information , or it may even be a faulty crank or cam sensor .. hope this helps regards Vortash

How to stop a major oil leak?

unfortunately you have blown out the cam shaft seal located behind cylinder head gear big job! seal is worth $6.00 these blow out in cold weather start ups they very lightly condensate leak and boom out it comes! usually when this happens it is a wise choice to do the water pump and timing belt at the same this it is all on the same track and compartment!fact makes no sense to change seal and go through that 7-8 hour labour rate charge and 2 months later do it again water pump life expectancy is 80 thousand -1000thousand km! timing belt as well! so if a garage is doing this job your in canada it will be $750-$1000,be smart when you get this fixed! put a block heater in and plug it in on a timer! good luck sorry i had this kind of news!your leak is coming from passenger front looks like it is from oil filter or pulley!rite

1999 cross country v70 awd crankshaft seal replacement

Your info is confusing. The rear cam seal is not inside the timing belt cover, and the crank seal is at the bottom of the engine, while the cam seal is at the top.

Is there oil at the top, around the cam seal? Or just at the bottom? It's common for the oil pump seal to leak. If you get the oil pump reseal kit, it contains the oil pump seal and gasket, as well as the crankshaft seal. Make sure you seal the oil pump bolts, Volvo has special copper washers for this purpose.

Just try to locate the oil leak before replacing any more parts. Sometimes it can be something simple like the oil cap seal or the oil trap housing.

    Daewoo tacuma engine management light

There is sooo many problems with the 1.8ltr engine (2001) ..for example the oil ports in the cylinder head casting are way too small.. this causes clogging and obvious lack of flow and then lack of power due to compression ratio going out the window.. I've re-built quite a wee number of these puppies.. including my wife's own I heartily recommend the below..

This should give immediate effect, but you may also consider the CRANK/FLYWHEEL SENSOR.. It's NOTORIOUS.. Along with the IGNITION COIL PACK.. CONSTANTLY CRACKING HIGH TENSION LEADS..Etc...
Hope this helps someone out there..
