Fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank. Look in trunk under rug or Remove the back seat and under it you should find an access cover to get to the fuel tank sending unit. (the cover will be SCREWED in place). Remove cover, remove the sending unit and the fuel pump is installed on the sending unit
google youtube and find out if there is a video pertaining to changing your fuel pump..U might be able to access it from under the back seat or from in the trunk...there for u wont have to drop the tank..sounds like a bad fuel hose from tank to fuel filter via Engine
it's most likely in the top of the fuel tank itself. you can drop the fuel tank to get to it but some cars have an access panel just for this reason under the rear seat. simply pull the bottom of the back seat out and you will see right away if it has one or not.
More times than not it is in the fuel tank itself. In this case you have to drop the entire fuel tank to get to it. Some cars you can pull out the back seat and have an access panel under the seat and you can get to it that way.
On some vehicles there is a small plate under the back seat that allows you to get to the pump and replace it. If not you are going to have to drop the tank out to get a new fuel pump in. Its not a hard job if you take your time and have a friend help lower the tank if needed.Damn things a heavy and awkward with fuel in them. Good luck.
The fuel pump is probably located at the fuel tank. You will find the fuel pump mounted on the top of the fuel tank. There will be an access cover, about the size of a saucer, glued down with caulk under the trunk carpet just behind the back seat, or under the back seat bottom. Once you have located this cover, pry it up--I don't think there will be any screws. You should then be able to unscrew the plate from the top of the tank which will lift the fuel pump and sender unit. PLEASE OBSERVE EVERY PRUDENT PRECAUTION FOR WORKING AROUND FLAMMABLE VAPORS AND LIQUIDS! EVEN IF THE TANK IS EMPTY! THE FUEL PUMP IS INSIDE THE GAS TANK. GOT TO DROP THE GAS TANK TO CHANGE IT.
You will need to remove the back seats and you will see the fuel pump in between the back seats and trunk. Run the car, remove the fuel pump fuse to relieve the pressure and then the car will die. Remove the pipes to the fuel pump, replace it and refit the pipes. Pump the gas pedal a few times and start it up (remember the fuse!)
If it is inside the tank (the fuel pump), then you will see the tank is held on by straps. Take them off, have ajack under it and remove the filler neck and screws holding it to the car. Remove the tank, undo the central bit where wires and pipes come out and slide the fuel pump out, replace what you have just done and refit.
Hello. No, there is no access through the back seat. You have to remove the gas tank. You have to remove the exhaust pipes to get to the gas tank. The best way to get to it is to put the car on a lift. Once you remove the tank you will see it on top it is one piece connected to the fuel gauge and the entire thing is inserted on the top side. It is hard to get to because there is no access panel under the back seat.
