The motor going is a good sign that the electronics going to it is good. However the gears could still be striped inside the motor and that is what is causing it to malfunction. Take the unit out and turn on the radio if it doesnt go up I would replace the whole unit.

You can't turn it on by the switch on the radio ? Nothing showing on the radio display ? If not check these fuses
Blown central junction box (CJB) Fuse 1 (7.5A), Fuse 20 (7.5A), Fuse 28 (7.5A), and Fuse 29 (25A) . The switch on the steering wheel should not stop the radio from being turned on at the radio !
No Most power antenna work the same. it takes two people to change them. watch and listen as radio is turn on then off do this several times then remove retainer nut turn radio on and assist removal of remaining mast watch where the teeth are located in motor assembly. fully extend new antenna mast lube with machine oil 3 and 1 works great then slowly feed new mast into motor assembly then turn radio off as you guide new mast down install retainer parts work antenna up and down overrun clutch will make the final adjustment.
Modern automotive electronics are keyed to the VIN through the ECU to prevent theft, you must have the radio ID #, and key it into the radio with the number pads on the radio, only the dealership can retrieve the correct code for your vehicle. Probably not what you wanted to hear.
just removing ur radio would cause this (ive had mine out a dozen times) make sure all plugs and the antenna is plugged in snug, also you can try another compatible radio just to make sure from another ford (the two square connector style is refered to as the "world" plug)
1 -Check your head light switch and turn signal switch by taping them lightly - Common problem with fords to short signal light switch/head lights and they also have radio lights/clock lights control(lights dim for Radio/clock when you turn the lights on)
If you have checked all the fuses and switchs, possible that the light bulbs have burned out. Check with a local radio repair shop and they can remove the radio and install new bulbs.
I have the radio lights going out too, the antenna will not go down, and it tends to stall out. CD player still works but have no clue what track I am on. Was told I would have to get a whole new factory stereo system. Oh, now I can't lock my doors automatically from the keyless entry and unlocking it takes forever. I have the same model and year and make as you. I'm just glad it still goes from A to B. My new problem is my air conditioner is horrible and does not blow ice cold. I wish I had a solution for you.
