I have a 2006 dodge stratus sxt with a 2.4 l 16 valve engine. i was driving fine. when it suddenly developed a bad hesitation at 60 mph. as long as i stay under 2200 rpms it runs fine but once over 2200 it hesitates like it is starving for fuel. the codes showing are 0457 and 0340 any idea where to start to fix this

No, unfortunately when I see this it is usually a broken timing belt or sucked valve. Both are bad. It could be an injector control, I assume the SXT is injected, problem but I doubt it. I would do a compression check to see if the compression is gone in any cylinder. I usually don't see a broken timing belt in a car that new but it is possible.

honestly it could be any of many. but might start with fuel filter. Might also have some bad gas, get a bottle of 'something called HEAT and pour into gas. hope it helps .may take a day or so to clean out the water in gas.

It sounds like it needs a tune up i would put a set of spark plugs and plug wires on the car, And add a btl of injector cleaner to the fuel system,
