Replaced the Cap, Rotor (Because they were carboned up) and module as it didnt show anything on the OHM meter. Checked Coil wire and its good......still no spark!

No fire in coil pack.

Was the timing chain damaged ?
Did you have spark from the coil before you replaced the other parts ?
Do you have battery voltage on the positive side of the coil with the key on and in crank mode ?
Is the coil wire not sparking, or are you not getting spark at the plugs ?
Is the distributor rotor turning when you crank the engine ?

I need answer for truck not firing. On. A 1991. SERRIA 1500 TRUCK 5.0 LITER

Several things can cause this problem, cracked distributor cap, old ignition rotor. Or if you have coil packs, cracked coil pack, ignition control module, crank position sensor, cam position sensor. Coil pack parts and sensors can be checked by autozone, cap and rotor will have corrosion on the rotor, however a small crack in the distributor cap can be next to impossible to see, replacement is usually best option.

I have a 96 GMC Suburban that turns over with spark at the coil but has no spark at the plugs. I have replaced the coil and the ICM. What else could it be?

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

Have you replaced the distributor coil pack? If the coil pack is burnt or worn out there will be no spark to the plugs which may result to a no start issue. I strongly suggest that you have it replaced.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Does anyone know where the coil is on a TE 96 magna V6 ???? please help

They hide those things everywhere. Grab a plug wire, follow it back to the distributor, the center wire on the distributor goes to the coil. If for some reason you don't have a distributor, when you follow the plug wire it will take you to the coil pack

My 2003 gmc v6 just had its plugs and wires and distributor cap and button changed and i put the distributor button on wrong, it ran fine 4 a mon. or 2 and one of the screws came out of the button and...

The distributor cap and/or the ignition rotor most likely have a crack somewhere and the distributor cap should be replaced along with the ignition rotor. The ignition module could have been damaged as well as the ignition pick-up coil/stator and if replacing the distributor cap and ignition rotor does not solve the problem then the ignition module or the pick-up coil/stator assembly inside of the distributor is also most likely damaged and the distributor will need to be replaced. There is a certain procedure for removing and replacing the distributor, and the ignition timing is not adjustable and it is not set using a timing light or with the engine running, and if you do have to replace the distributor Let me know if you require the procedure to properly remove and replace the distributor or if you require any further assistance.

How do i change the distributor cap in my 2003 gmc sierra?

this truck uses coil on plug (distributorless) ignition. there is not distributor, therefor no cap. there is an individual coil pack for every cylinder, with a very short wire going to each plug.

1993 Plymouth Voyager will not crank

Remove the Distributor cap and watch the rotor as you crank the engine. If the motor is turning over and the rotor is not moving then you have a broken Timing belt. If this is the case the Belt broken while the engine was running. I can tell you from experience, I owned one of these and mine did the same thing, Every valve in the head is bent. The good news it is not hard to replace on your own and it can be done without removing the engine. The bad news you have to remove your head and have it serviced by a shop.
