Hi, It seems to me all the problems with this tranny are electrical related, that tranny has about four solonoids, for shifting, line pressure, etc, I would have it scanned for trouble codes, I have the same van but am having trouble with hard shifting, also soloniod problem. hope this helps.

1998 malibu transmission slipping when it is cold

Sounds like a servo seal (o-ring) in the trans itself. If the seal leaks, it will not allow the proper pressure to build in the circuit that engages bands and clutches. I see a trans rebuild in your future.

2007 jeep grand cherokee trans fluid leaking from vent tube by fill tube

my experience is that if its commong out of the vent tube its way overfilled..need to drain it out and refill to the full line on the stick itself or see if the filter is completely clogged..if you just changed the filter, and are filling it back up.. need to start the vehicle and let the pump circulate it and check the level after a few minutes..

Leaking fluid

Only so many places these trans 41 TE can leak on the vans. Lines on top, speed sensors(input, output)one is below the lines the other is to right of the lines. Dipstick tube, trans solenoid gasket, Oil pan & extension gasket. Wipe off & clean area very well. Lines leaking, check clamps first before replacing. Speed sensor leaking replace o ring, Dipstick tube replace o ring, Trans solenoid replace gasket, Extension plate replace gasket If the pan is leaking you change the trans filter & put a gasket on the pan. The book says RTV on the pan, but FelPro make a gasket for the pan $6.99. Use a Chrysler trans filter!!!! O rings for sensors, tube around $3 each, trans solenoid gasket $3, extension gasket $10, Filter $11 + gasket $7 & 4qts trans fluid if doing the filter or extension gasket.

2003 chevy venture transmission slow to shift from 1st to 2nd and then from 2nd to 3rd.

Probably due for a trans service--which is flushing the trans and replacing the trans fluid and filter.

Dead battery leads to transmission fluid leak

the reason your trans blows out fluid after you changed the battery is because the original battery is connected to the ****** vent tube i also had this problemb .i thought the vent tube was for the battery but it is for the transmission solution dont reconnect it to the new battery it dont vent the same and plugs off the vent tube builds up pressure in the trans and bows back out the fill tube ! why ford connected the tanny to the battery ill never know . stuppidty !!!

99 Chevy Venture Slams when shifting

If the van shifts ok when cold but hard when hot then the pressure control valve in the trans is bad. When the fluid temp climbs past a certain point the PCS sensor shorts out and stops controlling fluid pressure. This usually causes a whine from the trans (pump) and hard shifting. This is because the PCS can no longer control the pump pressure so the pump now runs at full pressure and shifts as if you were using full thottle all the time - the opposite of what your doing, which is to feather the throttle trying to ease the shift. So now the trans calls for a full pressure shift when your using part throttle and it slams. The (PCS) part is cheap enough but the trans has to be removed to replace it and that's not cheap.

Give this a shot, it often works and it's cheap enough to try.

First, have a good mech carefully check the rediator trans cooler section to be sure there's no leakage of coolant from the enging to the trans coller section of the radiato. This is important!, if antifreeze is leaking into the trans fluid via the cooler it'll cause problems that are otherwise impossible to diagnose and eventually complete trans/torque converter failure.

If there's no radiator problem then power flush the trans and change the filter, then install an aftermarket trans cooler in series with the built in cooler (the instructions with the cooler detail this). It's about $60 for the cooler and maybe one hour to install it.

This whole process will drop the trans fluid temperature 40-50 degrees and often that's enough to get back into a temperature range that will allow the PCS to work reliably again.

If it doesn't work your not out much, if it does work you'll probably get another couple of years out of it.

My son's saturn sl1 2001 is leaking transmission

If it doesn't have a dipstick for trans it must be an L-Series.They have a plug you remove from the bottom end of tunnel on the trans. If fluid come out with it running, supposedly it's full but it's a bad design.best way is to remove trans pan, drain fliud(replace filter if needed)Re-attach pan & gasket.Re-fill with 7qts Mercon 3 fluid.Hope this helps
