Start by checking your fuel pressure. You should ave 5-10 lbs of pressure. If you don't have that amount of pressure you should check your fuel filter. If you check your filter and it is clear and you have the right amount of fuel pressure then you may have an injector problem that is best solved by replacing all of the injectors. If non of this helps please give more information on how the engine runs at idle (smooth, rough, spit, spudder) and such as that as you may have an ignition problem.
no year. wow
double wow, no engine stated,
you have misfire, i cant list the 50 cause.
but 2 to 5 tests on average, BAM, they it is ,every time.
compression good on all 6 or 8 cylinders?
spark prefect on all same.?? not one, ALL !!!
got injectors? no year, means gawd knows, injectors clogged or leaking? fueling bad,
When my Grand Cherokee was having similar rough idling problems, I replaced all the plugs and replaced all the ignition and spark plug wires. I also put in half bottle of fuel injector cleaner in gas tank (full, as recommended). I had both immediate improvement in power, smoother idling and my gas mileage went up 2mpg (approx).
did you check the coil it may be bad. for # 1 cylinder. if you can, just replace them all. then you will know everything is ok! but change #1 coil first to find out. try putting some injector cleaner in the tank, or swapping the injector from the
#1 cylinder to the #2 and see if the code follows it and let us know.
CHECK OR REPLACE ALL VACUUM HOSES.REPLACE AIR FILTER,REPLACE FUEL FILTER,CLEAN FUEL INJECTORS WITH A CAN OF SEAFOAM TO 3/4 TO FULL TANK OF GAS.CLEAN THE THROTTLE BODY THROTTLE PLATE.SPRAY CARBURETOR CLEANER INTO THROTTLE BODY BREAK CARBON BUILD UP AROUND THROTTLE PLATE AND SPRAY CARB CLEANER AROUND THROTTLE BODY SHAFT AREA REMOVE CARBON BUILD UP TO PREVENT SHAFT FROM BINDIND.BECAREFUL NOT TO GET CARBURETOR CLEANER IN THE IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE AND OTHER ELECTRICAL PARTS.REPLACE ALL VACUUM HOSES ON THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND REPLACE PCV.
If you haven't changed the plugs or had the fuel system cleaned, now would be a good time to do it. The number 1 culprit for rough idles is dirty injectors or plugs. You can try an injector cleaner in a can (or bottle) for under $10 and see if it helps, and then work from there. If there isn't any improvement then if you are able to, check the plugs for any gunky buildup and if you find a bad plug, make sure you replace them all (or have them replaced) at the same time.
