1998 Caravan gauges not working

I lost my gauges in my 1998 Dodge Caravan Sport. When this happened I also lost the heat and rear defrost. The electronics in the upper console are also not working. I have tried to replace the instrument cluster, but this didn't solve the problem any suggestions?

Unfortunately I have already tried this and have checked all the grounds in the van. I have also replaced every fuse in the van just to make sure they were all working correctly

Thank you for the new advice. I will try that. Anything at this point that is new is worth a try.

Fuse? Otherwise sounds like an electrical short.

Not a ground , sorry, A short, Hot (positive) wire or circuit going to ground where it should not. Posibly a fusible link.Look on the drivers side close to where the hood hinge is. should be a bundle of wires going to fuse/circuit breaker box. It will look like a burned wire. May be burnt in two. I had an older caravan that brake fusable link burned out. Sorry I could not be more helpful. You sound like you are knowlegeable about cars.

I did body work for 24 years but am not a mechanic.

Go to autozone.com and see if their repair guide can help you locate the source of the problem.

The emergency breake om my 98 dodge sport caravan is stuck and wont release

Follow the e-brake pedal up and find the release, where the cable connects to it,and release the brake, the cable or linkage is broken most likely.

A 1998 dodge caravan accesory buttons for rear defrost, AC., ETC. are flashing on and off.

it is an internal problem in the heater control assembly,
we have seen alot of this,it will need to be removed and check the color of the plug on the back of it,and call a good salvage yard.

These vehicles seem to have a problematic short, my grandfather has the same vehicle with the same problem, i found the short under the carpet on the driver side of the vehicle, under the gas pedal, sometimes wires can crack and break.

this sounds like the a/c compressor is locking up trying to stall engine. run the car with heater off, then turn on a/c or windshield defrost. if engine stalls (or almost) suspect faulty a/c compressor
