Please call me its easier to explain on the phone, in the mean time try something easy hit the fuel pump on thebottom with a brick or rock then have someone listen to the fill neck of the tank for the two second "buzz" as soon as you turn on the ignition, has this vehicle been run way way low on fuel many times or the fuel filter neglected to been changed at the 15,000 miles interval?

SOURCE: tail gate wont stay closed -latches not catching
i have a 2004 GMC SERIA. The tailgate was hard to close and would fall open at times. i too did what everyone else was doing and lubricating, the assy, and the 2 end latches. After failing and removing everything 2 and 3 times, it looked like the assy arms would not allow the latches to roll over and catch the strickers. So i removed the handle(be careful w/bezel, tindences to break the stubs). i put the assy in my vice w/arms facing away from me; i then took a punch and ball peen hammer and struck the rivette head where arms pivot. this freed up the binding on the arms release mechanism. Tailgate wrks beautiful.

It sounds like your injectors are not firing which could be a crank signal problem or wiring, distributor pickup coil problem or a computer problem. One wire to your injector should be pink this is the power wire it should have around 11.5-12 volts with the key on. The other wire is ground that the computer uses to fire the injector which you can check with a good test light hooked to voltage. and work back from that point if you have neither at the injector.
SOURCE: My 1999 Chevy Tahoe wont start unless i spray
It is not a fuel pump problem.
It a cold start valve problem. It didn't open. There are 2 things to check.
1- The cooling thermal sensor is not sending the proper signal to the ECU to turn on the cold start valve.
2- The bad solenoid inside the cold start valve causing it not operational.
Case 1 you can easily replace the thermal sensor.
Case 2 checking this requires professional skill to confirm if there is a signal at the valve during the start.
Good luck
