I've got a 2004 (53 Reg) x-type 2.0d with 94k on the clock. At about 88k the engine managemt light came on, i also noticed a lack of power at around 2000rpm and black smoke. I had the fault codes read : maf malfunction. I replaced the maf and the light stayed off for a day and then came back on. I blanked off the egr and all the power returned. however the problem soon reappeared so i removed the plate and cleaned and refitted the egr. The light is now on full time, and the car hesitates and splutters between 1500-2000rpm. There doesn't seem to be any whistle (suggesting a leaking air hose). The car also tends to stall very easily, but restarts immediately. Fuel cons is about 44mpg. Any ideas??

jaguar x-type 2ltr diesel 2004 the glow plug warning light flashing, was told dirty fuel on fault code all fuel changed and filters. No problems for 20 miles untill engine was put under power on high revs went into limp mode, warning light glow plug falshing again? any ideas thanks.
I had a very similar problem (did not have the abs light) but had the other lights.
Changed fuel filter as the problem seemed to be a fuel pressure problem.
Turbo was back and no flashing heater light, engine light will go out after about three cold to hot starts as long as no other problem exists. It's worth a try as it is a cheap and relatively easy repaire to do. If not the answer take to a garage who can interrogate the computer.
