If you can give any further details, I can look up some information for you. What engine do you have? Do you know the ring gear size in the differential?

are u referring to the rear axle differential gear oil fill capacity? Is it 2 or 4 wheel drive?

What is the engine oil capacity of 4D36 engine

your best bet is to put in 3 quarts then see if there is anything showing on the dipstick if not add another quart at a time until you see something or it's at the fill level on the dipstick. when I do this I leave the dipstick either out completely or half out so oil doesn't splash up on it while pouring in that was I don't have to wipe it each time. typically from the bottom of the dipstick to the max fill line is one to 1.5 quarts, so don't worry about overfilling if you are checking between each quart. And if you buy 5 quarts and you have an extra, just save it for the next oil change.

Dear Sirs, I own Pathfinder 2006. Recently Oil goes out from MAX mark to MIN mark within 8000 km (5000 miles). My dealer tells me that this is regular consumption which is confirmed by NISSAN officials....

  • Well MAX to MIN on the dipstick is a quart of oil in difference. You need to have the oil changed every 3,000 miles (5,000 miles for a synthetic). I don't think that a 2006 Nissan should burn a quart of oil every 5,000 miles. That seems a bit absurd. For much older vehicles this might be true but for a 2006, much more efficient vehicle, it should not burn a quart every 5.000 miles.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Rear seal- 1994 dodge caravan. 3.3 liter V6 automatic

Well to change out a rear main seal on any engine isn't an easy task on that one through a shop probabley 6 hours of labor or so,shop rates vary but I would say labor alone to be at least $250.00-$350.00 and for the seals and gaskets probabley $50.00-$75.00 so if a shop does it your bill should be about $300.00 min.and $425.00 max.

I am loosing oil in my 2006 Rav4 my oil light comes on after 2500 miles of driving my car after an oil change.Toyota is saying you consume 1 quart of oil for every 1000 miles. My Rav holds 4.5 quarts of...

I see you have a four cylinder since it only holds 4.5 quarts.
2006 manual confirms your oil consumption is within allowances. Just check oil every time you buy gas like the manual reccomends. Do not over rev engine or accelerate from stops at max capacity of car as these can increase oil consumption.

Oil change, how much oil for the 5.9l

hmmm.......well off the top of my head I would like to say that the crankcase takes 5.5 us quarts of oil....BUT.....LET'S do it this way.....drain the engine oil....remove the old filter.....reinstall a new oil filter hand tight with a little bit of oil on the gasket to prevent binding....then reinstall the drain plug...now.......add five quarts of oil to the engine....start it up for a brief 10 seconds...then turn it off.....let it sit for a quick second and check the oil level(be sure it's parked on a flat surface) then simply add oil accordingly...if it is alittle low.......then add a quarter of a quart at a time to prevent overfilling...the max oil fill line will appear on the dipstick so you know you can't niss it... HOPE I HELPED!!!

Does the crown vic police intercepter take as much oil as the regular crown vic? (when changing the oil and filter)

I ~think~ the 1999 is the same as the 2000 (mine is a 2000 P71)

The 2000 CVPI (Crown Vic Police Interceptor) owners manual recommends the following:

Engine Oil - Motorcraft SAE 5W-30 Super Premium Motor Oil 5.0 quarts

Transmission Fluid - Motorcraft Mercon V ATF 13.9 quarts (fluids Mercon & Mercon V are NOT INTERCHANGEABLE, DO NOT MIX)

Fuel Tank - 19.0 gallons

Break Fluid - DOT 3

Rear Axle Lubricant - Motorcraft 80W-90 Premium Rear Axle Lubricant 3.75 pints (add 4 oz of Additive Friction Modifier C8AZ-19B546-A or equilavent meeting Ford Spec. EST-M2C118-A for complete refill of Traction-Lok Rear Axles)

Engine Data - 4.6L V8 Engine
Cubic Inches - 281
Required Fuel - 87 Octane
Firing Order - 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8
Spark Plug Gap - 1.3-1.4 mm (0.052-0.056 inch)
Ignition System - Coil On Plug
Compression Ratio - 10.0:1

I hope this helps!
