Why did my gas gate went all around under E either Full or Empty never come back

sounds like you may have a bad fuel level sender problem. as for the check engine light coming on and storing a fault code that is a separate issue.

bad fuel pump. remember the fuel gauge is built into the fuel pumps, so you need to replace whole pump

The instrument cluster needs to be replaced or repaired. The small motors that control the gauge has likely failed.

Glitch with dash gage cluster. Must be replaced.

Wiring problem under the dash. Could be a ground issue as you said. You need to get under the dash and check the grounds.

What causes the gas gage to work is the sending unit works in resistance. As the resistance goes up, the float goes to empty, as resistance goes down, it goes to full. Resistance in this case equals ground. So it sounds like the ground has been lost. check for a bad wire and under the frame back to the tank is a good place to start since that is where a lot of corrosion is posible.
