Power Window: If it's a power window check to see if there is power coming from the window switch with a test light or multimeter. If power is coming from the switch, look in the door where it pivots and check to see if any wires are cracked or broken. If there is no borken wires, then it's possible that the power window motor is not working. If you hear the power window motor working or operating it's possible the window regulator is broken or binded up Manual Window: If it's a manual window, take the door panel off and check the regulator (part where the window is attached) and looked for any signs that the cable in the part has come free or binded up. Try to roll window up and down to find any signs of the broken cable. If that is the case, then you need a window regulator.
your window is driven using a cable drive system. kinda like bicycle brake & gearshift cables.
these systems are prone to break. i just wonder why it made noise for so long without breaking.
what you probably need is a window regulator assy.. napa sells them for $191.00 with a new
motor. the hardest part of doing the job is getting the door pannel off without breaking anything
You will need to remove your interior trim panel and check your window regulator for damage and for power going to your window motor. If your regulator is ok and you have power going to the motor then you have a bad window motor. If there is no power at the motor then you will need to check the circuit for the problem ie. blown fuses, broken wiring, bad switch. It is very commen for the motors to go bad. Good luck.
