I think the alternator/regulator is overcharging the battery. this explains the cd player turning on and off and the headlight blowing. overcharging also will boil the battery fluid down and trap explosive gases in the battery. when it got really hot because of the lack of fluid, the battery shorted out and ignited the gases in the battery. replace the battery headlight and alternator, and check the output of the system at the battery while running it should be between 13.6 and 14.5.

Some cars have a separate voltage regulator. good luck. also i would check all your terminals for wear and might replace them too.

Head light doe not work on a suzuki 1000 2002 model

suzuki 1000 what is that, what country?

no matter, what car, (USA on USA forum) the head lights come on
with keys in pocket (turned on) so battery is dead(or only discharged)
or a fuse blew.
check fuses,
check that battery voltage is 12.6vdc, rested.

Someone broke in to my car (TSX 2004); the car doesn't want to start anymore. Head lights come on, there is no power to the radio and the starter doesn't want to turn the engine... How do I get the ca

charge the battery.
so that wnen rested it reads 12.6vdc. then it will start.
also check all fuses in both fuse boxes.
they might have tried hot wiring things (like on TV) and blew fuses.
the battery is first. no power, all toys and EFI go , dumb.

THE VAN STARTED RIGHT UP AND I PUT IT IN REVERSE AND STARTED TO MOVE AND THEN THE VAN WENT DEAD. HEAD LIGHTS ARE OUT, DOME LIGHT IS OUT. BREAK LIGHTS WORK AND SOME DASH LIGHTS WORK. THE VEHICLE HAS ENOUGH...

I would guess that you either blew a main ignition fuse or the ignition switch melted.
The brake lights and starter don't use the ignition circuit.
You need to trace with a test light.
See if current comes out of ignition switch when you turn it on.
It has to be going into the switch for the starter to crank.
As to what blew the fuse, it could be a short in the backup light circuit?

The truck stays on as long as i'm driving but whn i come to a stop or slow down it dies and i have to restart it. I thought maybe the alternator, would that be right? Also the lights start on the dash fade...

My truck is manual and is idling rough at low rpms, it kinda surges and rpm starts to drop like between 500 and 900 rpm as well.

I have trouble starting it and stalls on me.

I have changed the alternator, starter, battery, battery cables, rotor, distributor cap, spark plug wires, spark plugs.

As for the dash light going out, mine does that too but on the left side (gas gauge side), I just usually apply a firm tap on the left side of the black part of the panel and it turns on.

Battery is charged. Went to start car at the end of the day, and there is a mechanical clicking sound (all dash indicators light) but the starter motor won't engage, and car won't turnover. Bad...

Do this to check if it's a bad battery, turn head light's on and try to start it, if head light go to dim or off, bad battery not holding a charge, if light stay on ok, then this will take two people tap on the starter kinda hard with a hammer or something you can reach it with while some one hold's to key to start, if it start's bad starter or trys to turn engine replace it.

JUST PUT IN A NEW STARTER . DRAINED 2, BATTERIES. WHAT SHOULD I CHECK?

I would look at replacing the battery cables, both of them, and if possible,go with larger cables, not longer, but bigger around,it will help a lot.
