Question about 2002 Buick Rendezvous
My speedometer has stopped working. How can I tell if the problem is with the speedometer (instrument cluster) or with the speed sensor located on the transmission?
Pretty common problem with these. Here's a guide to learn how to fix GM instrument clusters yourself, I used it to fix mine and it worked great. How to guide for GM instrument cluster repair

How is your shifting, usually a bad speed sensor will set a check engine light and may cause shift errors, this trans has a internal and external speed sensor, the pcm uses the external for shift and for cruise and for also cruise control. A quick no scanner way to tell is if your cruise is working, if it is then your most likey looking at a bad cluster, take it from me i'm a master gm tech. if i don't have a scanner to do a guage sweep it's like having a broken arm while fixing these. but this should help you out.
