It may seem like coincidence that the light came on after changing filter but more than likely they are not related. Did you change filter just as routine maintenance or you felt vehicle acting strange ex loss of power jerking stalled etc. If so it was probably a problem brewing all ready. Here is my advise take your vehicle to an Auto Zone and have them put it on their code scanner ITS FREE. Then get back to me when you get the codes I will be more than glad to help. Good Luck and thanks for using FIX YA

Where would the fuel filter be on a 2000 chevy trail blazer please ! ! ! :)

The fuel filter is on the drivers side frame rail and is a high pressure system, so you should attempt to depressurize it. Take the fuel cap off. Pull fuse for the fuel pump. Start engine, let engine die. There will still be a little pressure in the line and certainly fuel in the filter and line. I had to remove the skid plate to get to the filter, there was a hand hole, but not for my hand to work in effectively. The clips are real easy to remove with some pliers. Use a towel or rag to remove the fuel lines and protect your self from the fuel. If your new filter doesnt have the little plastic doo-hickies (technical term) on the nozzles you will need to get them off of the old on, just pull them off gently, dont break them. Put the fuel lines back on noting the flow arrow on the filter. Replace holding strap and skid plates as applicable. Replace fuel cap and fuse. Start engine, let idle a minute or so. Drive around the block a time or two and enjoy. Repeat procedure every 30,000 miles (I think that is the manual periodicity).

Where is the fuel filter located on my 2004 Chevy Trail Blazer? WE

On 05+ Trail Blazer, the fuel filter is integral with the fuel pump inside of the fuel tank. It is a non-serviceable part. On 02-04s, the filter is on the drivers side frame rail at about the B-pillar. If your trail Blazer is a late 04 which means that it was build close to the 05 Trail Blazer, you may have a non serviceable fuel filter. Good luck and check under your Trail Blazer or look at your manufactured date sticker on the door which would help you indicate if your 04 is a early Trail Blazer and you'll have the fuel filter on the inside frame rail under the driver's door.
