Do you have problems starting it? I have a 01 SL1 and it was having problems starting and when I would get it started it would revv up on its own esp in park or neutral. I replaced a bunch of parts to no avail, I changed the ECT sensor and it FIXED my problem. Hope this helps!!
replace the coil it is most likely bad. observe the engine at night or in a dark environment and proceed to use a spray bottle to lightly coat the coil pack for that cylinder number 3 and if you see an arc at the coil or any where else this will confirm a bad coil but even if you don't see any arcing it still may be a weak coil.
Can be but also check and make sure there are NO vacuum leaks or brokenvacuum hoses anywhere on intake. I would also suggest if engine light is on is to take this vehicle to an AUTO ZONE they will check by computer for this problem and let you know for FREE. When you get the code I would be more than glad to help you further. Don't guess you may be wasting money and time. Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA
Sounds like you have one of two problems. If the car has over 80,000 miles on the odometer, your idle air control motor (basically an electrical solenoid valve which allows additional air into the motor past the closed throttle valve) is sticking open. The other possibility is a vacuum leak. I would try removing the IAC (idle air control motor) and cleaning it using aerosol carb or throttle body cleaner. This is available at any auto parts store. Re-install the valve and see if there is an improvement. If it improves but reverts to it's old behavior (usually within a day to a week) you will need to replace the valve. Charlie
