Was trying to figure out how to properly clean a throttle body on a 2000 Dodge Dakota quad cab

Not much to clean on any throttle body, just an
aluminum machined casting & may have some
deposits on it, but that isn't going to be your loss
of power issue.

You can spray it inside with CRC Throttle Body
Cleaner, the instructions are on the can.

Have to go thru the entire engine testing as you go,
assuming all preventative maintenance has been
done, if time & mileage warrants such work

Don't throw parts at it

IAC(idle air controll valve)TCV(throttle control valve)get some carb cleaner and spray into the throttle body. You have to remove the hose from the air cleaner. These valves tend to get gunked up.It is best if you can remove them to clean them better.

My 2000 dodge dakota wont start. I replaced the battery and still wont start. The lights are strong and it turns but wont start. What could be wrong?

Two basics; fuel supply and ignition. Neither of these are difficult to check but for in-hand assistance, a service manual is a good investment and we like Haynes:

2000 dakota with 4cyl power miss at idle new plugs wires cap

Sounds like it might be choke? Maybe a vacuum line leaking around the throttle body? Or oxygen sensor? Or throttle position sensor? Or mapp sensor?

Not positive, but I would try those in that order. I hope this helps.
