I need a diagram for the brake vacuum switch on a 1988 F150

Look at the brake pedal and follow it up under the dash. The switch is mounted to a bracket. The switch is the only thing touching the brake pedal arm.

Brake lights do not work.

Are the brake lights the ONLY lights that do not work? Does the third (high mount) brake light work when you apply the brake pedal?
The Hummer H3 is basically a Chevy Trailblazer in Hummer clothing.. so the first place to look is the brake light fuse. If it is good, then check for power at the brake light switch mounted near the top of the brake pedal pivot area. Also be sure that the bulbs themselves are OK.

On my 1986 ford escort the breaklights wont turn off

Check the brake pedal's suspension; you should find the brake light switch there and it has either failed or its mounting bracket needs to be adjusted.

No brake lights

Look under the dash, on the brake pedal arm. There are one or two switches that activate brakes lights and shift unlock. Check for loose mounting nut or a missing rubber nubber. Look on the floor for something not usually found there. These switches are adjustable and it may be as simple as adjusting them. Have a helper look for brake lights on and shift lever unlocked while you push and release the switches with your finger. Depress the brake pedal to get it out of the way. Remember to set the park brake first. Could just be a bad switch or loose connector. Check fuses and the bulbs.

Replace the stop light switch. It is a $24 part, mounted on the upper brake pedal. I will attempt to include a pic below.

How do I replace the center brake light bulb on my 97 Oldsmobile 88?

High-Mount Brake Light NOTE: Depending upon the vehicle, the center high-mount brake light may be accessed from outside the vehicle, through the trunk, or through the passenger compartment.
  1. Remove the center high-mount bracket light lens retaining screws.
  2. Remove the lens in order to get to the bulbs.
  3. Carefully pull the bulb away from its retaining clip contacts.
  4. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Before installing the lens, make sure the brake light operates properly by having an assistant depress the brake pedal.
I'll post the pics here in a sec.

2005 f150 4by4 brakes

Hello

With regards to the brake lights, you need to replace your brake switch located under your brake pedal.

With regards to spongy pedal, sounds like air in the line you need to bleed the brakes via the bleed nipple on each caliper and check your brake fluid.

hope this helps.

Thanks
