Driver window not working in my 94 grand cherokee

Just the driver window.......All the other windows work just fine. I think it is the actual switch itself but what I need to know right now is how can i hotwire the window shut......very cold and snowy here and it is down about 2" or so. Pretty embarrasing to have a plastic bag over the door when I park!!

Check the wires in the rubber boot of the door jamb. most likely your prob is caused by a broken wire from the door being opened and closed so much. i had the same prob. it fixed mine. the boot is a pain in the **** to get out of the way though

If you have a power prob or a 12 volt jumeper box you can check the switch and the window regulator motor. all you have to do is unplug the switch and use two wires[better if aligator clips are on wires] add one wire to a ground the other to the 12 volt supply then stick other ends to plug. you will not harm anything. try to revers the wires to get window to go up or down. if this failes the regulator moto is prob no good. i have done this 1000s of times i work at a collision repair shop for 19 years.

I would start by checking out the switch, if that isn't your problem I think each window has its own motor, I replaced a motor in my GMC van, it was arount $25.$.30 easy to repair once I got the difficult door pannel removed.

My window on my 03 Grand Cherokee driver side rear is stuck down and will not go up all the other windows work fine from driver side controlexcept the rear window on the driver side now it is stuck down...

You will have to remove the door panel

Most likely you have a broken window regulator
& are not going to get it up

If it is a switch problem, only, then you unplug the
motor & put battery voltage direct from the battery,
to get it up, until you have time to work on the problem

problem is not related. the wire harness in the drivers door [**** rarely passenger door] has one or more broken wires inside that rubber belows in between the door hinges.

I cant get the electric window to close on my 94 Grand Cherokee

you can take the door pannel off and put power to the window motor to get it to roll up. but it sounds like you have a bad master switch( this is the whole switch pannel with all the buttons on it located on the drivers door) go to www.car-part .com to find a local junk yard that will have this part

Power windows go down but not up. Told to replace motor, but window works fine at the rear buton some times when the drivers door button does not work.

if the switch for the window in the back opens and closes the rear window but the driver switch will only open it then it is the switch on the driver door had the same problem with a dodge

had same problem with 94. in the door jam there is a rubber boot that holds all the wires for your power windows and locks and stuff. remove the boot and check each of the wires in that harness to make sure they are not broke. that's what was wrong with mine on both doors. the wires break with repeated door openings.

Ground wire (black) open between drivers door conector and door pillar due to flexing. Locate break and solder in some extra wire to relieve the stress when the door is used.
