Question about 2000 Ford Windstar

Coolant is black in 2000 ford winstar

The coolant is black in my 2000 winstar.

No loss of power or coolant. Still runs well. Not sure if the engine oil is cooled or exposed to coolant. Headgasket??

Engine was low on oil when checked. No leaks on ground. Oil very dark and appears to have no coolant in.

Intake manifold gaskets replaced several years back.

Some problems with speed/tack/abs light/AC. Not sure if there is any corelation??

Ford e250 gas van 5.4 engine 2000 model oil in water

Head gasket could be leaking from oil passageway to coolant passage without significant amount of coolant going to oil. A new head gasket may have to be installed to repair this problem.

White smoke coming out of exhaust, engine not overheating loss of power does not appear to be losing water

White smoke from the exhaust is a sign of coolant entering the combustion chamber. You say no coolant loss, or overheating. Is there a white foamy substance under the oil cap, & air bubbles escaping from the radiator? If so you have a leak and more than likely it is a blown head gasket. I would have a cooling system pressure test run. Do not continue to drive this Ford in this condition. Something is not right and you need to find out what is going on.

I have an instrument icon that has lite up not sure what it is looks like an engine or transmission 2000 winstar ford

If it's yellow it most likely is check engine light. If it's on it means onboard computer has detected malfunction. Have codes read by experienced mechanic as this will tell what problem is.

This has to do with your bank one O2 sensor. You may just need to clean it off, possible you may have to replace it.

1989 ford f150 loss of power

1989 is fuel injected, on the intake there is idle air control valve, make sure this is not dirty, also you may want to check the coolant temperature sensor, if the engine thinks it is warmer then waht it is the fuel air ratio will be off and your truck will run bad.

The codes are lean fuel condition for both banks. A very common problem with this engine that will set these codes are the upper & lower intake gaskets. You may experience a rough or rolling idle at cold start up and the condition will go away as the engine warms up. If you have checked all the basics such as vacuum leaks or air inlet leaks between the air filter box and the throttle body, then I would consider replacing these intake gaskets. Good Luck and please leave rating. Thanks
