Question about Chevrolet Malibu

It's the belt thing again

Hey I appreciate this help. I am a "woman" that try to fix my own car, cause men are always trying to get me for money. I have a 1977 chevelle. I have had this car for "8 years". I have had it so long the only work done was a transmission work and brakes. It even out last my "2002" car. Hopefully you can help me find a "diagram" for my chevy, I don't see one on my car panel at all. This is for my belt system. I have found 3 different belts going to all that is supposed to go, but this belt here, it came from the a/c compressor. Thanx

This belt should be going from the compressor to the crankshaft pulley. On some production dates its a double belt on the ac compressor. I really don't have a diagram of this vehicle so I am not 100% sure but look and see if the Ac has a double belt pulley. Good Luck contact if you need more help.

I have a 2011 dodge caravan and it is making a squealing noise when I turn it on and go. It stops when I break or stop the van. What could be wrong and is there a simple fix I can do at home?

If the noise is coming from the engine area could be your serpentine belt that is dirty or may be a pulley or the belt tensioner. if someone can help you. You could run a tooth brush from behind the serpentine belt to try to get any dirt out of it. you may want to check the belt while you are in there that is not showing any cracking if so you may want to replace it to prevent additional damages. if the cleaning of the belt does not work again it may be your belt tensioner. you can also try turning your a/c off or on to check if the noise goes off. that may be also cause of the A/c compressor clutch going out. will recommend taking your car to a professional technician. again may sound simple but you don't want to get stranded if your belt brakes and it will be more expensive having to tow the vehicle to a shop and possible causes of the vehicle overheating. Have a friend or some one do the brush for you and were some safety glasses. always think about safety first, trying to fix everything but your self may not always work and you may get hurt. good luck!

Help, My airconditioner will not go to cold and always blows out hot air

Open the hood and find the "fix A/C button" and push it. There you go.

On the other hand your car is nearing 10 and that is when things begin to go wrong. You need to find a shop which does mainly heating and A/C work on cars, these are easily found in the yellow pages. Before you go dumping money trying to recharge it, someone who knows what they are doing needs to locate and replace any defective or leaking parts, then recharge the system.

What is the recommended mileage for replacing the timing belt on at 1994 Toyota Camry 2200 4cly Thank You Frank

Hey Frank, take your front protection cover off and check your belt. Look for cracks and tears, also missing teeth. It is usually recommended around 100,000, but they can last longer. If the belt looks good, don't change it. If money is not an issue, then go ahead and change it if your close or over 100,000. They can last awhile but if it is over that and money is not a problem, change it. If it breaks, your stranded and it can cause engine damage. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

This is the relearn process if you replace a key and don`t have a scan tool. You have to get the codes from the Theft Deterrent module to see what could be causing the problem. If your key is worn out it could cause this problem.Try using a different key if you have one.The dealership parts department has a tool to check the keys.Usually done at no charge.Only takes seconds to do.Could also be a bad ignition cylinder. That`s why you need the codes.Other wise you are just spending money and buying parts that you don`t need.Let me know what codes you get and I`ll be glad to help you out.Good luck.
