Wiring coulours from right to left on a Ford Ka alternator please

Alternator plug has three wires, could you kindly give me the right to left sequence of the wiring?

Check your battery voltage while cranking. If it's too low, the electronics won't work and the injectors won't fire. If the batteries are down a bit, there won't be enough power to turn the engine over fast enough to start. It needs a minimum of 100 rpm and 8 volts while cranking. You also might try waiting till you're sure the GPR has dropped out. That takes the GP load off the batteries and may get the voltage up enough to get it to start, oh and also does the tach move when you're cranking? If not, then chances are the CPS is the culprit.

Stator wire from alternator

There are three wires that connect to the alternator: ORN to the field terminal, WHT/BLK to the stator terminal, and BLK/ORN to the battery terminal. The female spade must connect to a male spade on the alternator.

One of the first things that come to mind is you have left a multiplug out or broke a wire or two but iam unfamilar with this american vehicle ,now a focus or mondeo our europeon ford models i might have a idea but this one i have no past experiance but i would lay a pound to a penny that you have left something loose or damaged a wire to the coil pack.But some vehicles have alternator excited by the computer and not self exciting and vehicles from about this year started using this system so try disconnecting the alternator small wires and see if it starts.Then look at the wiring loom for damage around the alternator area or a plug pull out .

Make sure you don't have a broken wire or corded wire at the plug on alternator

Not getting current to battery,I replaced everything new, altenator regulator celnoid Battery and still will not charge battery

Hello, I'll try to give you a few ideas. Check whether your Armature and Field wires are in the right position. Then there are your plug-in wires at the Alternator connector. To generate a charge from your Alternator you need power going into the plug-in and that power comes from the Ignition switch.

If your Ignition switch is bad or if the power is not going to the Alternator because of wiring, then the Alternator will not put out current. I noticed the year of your truck is a 1981. Sometimes if the wiring has burned up, the last connection is the dash gauge. Sometimes the gauge will burn out. If you have an add on gauge and bought the truck as-is, the wiring to the gauge may have been done wrong and took out the Regulator and Alternator.

You can put on a decent gauge wire and bypass your gauge to see if the battery will get a charge. I don't have books that far back, check with an Autoparts about a fusible link for the charging system.

The battery and the alternator, need replacing on a 2006 6cyclinder, Taurus. I have the parts, and tools, I just never worked on a newer car before. I need a print out of instructions, please!!

Removal & Installation 3.0L (2V) To Remove:
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable
  2. Remove the accessory drive belt
  3. Remove the fasteners and move the degas bottle aside.
  4. Disconnect the wiring from the alternator.
  5. Remove the brace and the alternator mounting bolt.
  6. Remove the alternator from the engine.
To Install:
  1. Install the alternator on the engine. Tighten the lower and right brace bolt to 18 lb-ft. (25 Nm) and the left brace bolt to 35 lb-ft. (48 Nm).
  2. Connect the wiring to the alternator.
  3. Install the degas bottle in the original position.
  4. Install the drive belt.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
3.0L (4V) To Remove:
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2. Remove the accessory drive belt.
  3. Remove the power steering hose bracket nut from the alternator mounting bolt.
  4. Remove the upper alternator mounting bolts. NOTE: The left side bolt will come out with the alternator.
  5. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  6. Remove the right front wheel.
  7. Remove the right inner fender splash shield.
  8. Remove the screws and the alternator splash shield
  9. Remove the torque converter inspection cover.
  10. Install the flywheel holding tool. holdingtool.gif
  11. Remove the bolt and the crankshaft pulley. NOTE: The crankshaft pulley bolt has a reverse thread. The crankshaft pulley and bolt are a molded composite and are one piece.
  12. Lower the alternator to allow access to the electrical connectors.
  13. Disconnect the crankshaft sensor.
  14. Release the oxygen sensor connector locator from the bracket.
  15. Remove the lower alternator bolt.
  16. Disconnect the regulator electrical connector.
  17. Disconnect the remaining wiring from the alternator and remove the alternator
To Install:
  1. Position the alternator on the engine while making the necessary electrical connections.
  2. Connect the voltage regulator electrical connector.
  3. Install oxygen sensor connector locator in bracket.
  4. Connect crankshaft sensor.
  5. Raise alternator and install upper alternator bolts (left side bolt is installed with alternator). Torque upper and lower bolts to 18 lb-ft. (25Nm).
  6. Position the wiring harness locator and install nut.
  7. Install the alternator splash shield and the screws.
  8. Position crankshaft pulley and install bolt (reverse thread). Torque to 74 lb-ft. (100Nm)
  9. Remove the flywheel holding tool.
  10. Install the inner fender splash shield.
  11. Install the right front wheel.
  12. Install the torque converter inspection cover.
  13. Lower the vehicle.
  14. Install the power steering hose bracket nut from the alternator mounting bolt.
  15. Install accessory drive belt.
  16. Connect the battery ground cable.

Need instructions on how to remove an alternator on a 2002 Ford Taurus.

It's a little different if you have a 3.0L (2v) or a 3.0L (4v) engine. I will give you directions for a 2v first. 1. disconnect neg side of battery2. remove accessory drive belt.3.remove the fasteners and move the degas bottle aside.4. disconnect the wiring from the alternator .5.remove the brace and and alternator mounting bolt. 6.remove the alternator from the engine. -------------------4v engine- 1.disconnect neg side of battery 2.remove accessory drive belt.3.remove power steering hose bracket nut from the alternator mounting bolt.4. remove the upper alternator mounting bolts Note: the left side bolt will come out with the alternator5. raise the vehicle and safely support it with jack stands. 6. remove the right front wheel 7.remove the right inner fender splash shield. 8. remove the screws and alternator splash shield.9remove the torque converter inspection cover.10.install the flywheel holding tool. 11.remove the bolt and crankshaft pulley. Note the bolt has reverse threads for the crankshaft pulley and the pulley and bolt are one piece molded together. 12. lower the alternator to gain access to the electrical connections 13. disconnect the crankshaft sensor14.release the oxygen sensor connector locator from the bracket 15. remove the lower alternator bolt16.disconnect the regulator electrical connector 17.disconnect remaining wiring from the alternator and remove the alternator.

Where is the inline fuse for the alternator on a 2002 ford explor

I see two or three,the schematic shows two in series coming of the wire from the battery junction box to the back of the alternator and a third coming off the second wire,it's a tough call because schematics even factory schematics aren't always right but either way follow the wiring from the back of the alternator,and you should find them.

run a jumper from your alternator to your battery. This is a temporary fix and should stabilize the voltage and charge the system. It seems there is a short or grounding problem somewhere between the alternator and battery, so you will need follow the wiring but given the age of the vehicle, you should change the wiring from your generator or alternator to your battery. Be sure when you are running a jumper, your gauge wire is heavy enough and make sure the wire isn't hot. This is a temporary fix so don't go on a long road trip.
