1998 Pontiac Bonneville heater problem

Replaced my radiator and A/C compressor and suddenly for some reason my heater blows cold air then warm, maybe hot, then back to cold. The temp read out flashes 33 times then stops, then flashes again. Replaced the temp control pannel with another used one and it made NO difference. What does this mean? Where is the problem?

Take the upper radiator hose use a glove and while the car is running squeeze the hose together and see if trys to open in your hand and if it doesn't you have a weak water pump but check the condition of the drive belt and the coolant before you go to the pump

have you changed the belt make sure the car has the proper amount of coolant in it and also make sure you get all the air bubbles out of the system and what I mean is let the car get to normal temp and keep adding until it is full and then put the cap on and before you put the cap on make sure the antifreeze does not act like it is trying to boil out cause if it does take one of the plugs out and do a compression check on the heads and also when you replaced the A/C compresser did you recharge the unit because if you didn't your defroster would not work too good

I have a 98 Bonneville, the heater/defroster is blowing out cold air. I drove around for 30 to 40 minutes checked the radiator and it was cold to the touch. could it be the thermostat

The dash gauges are notoriously inaccurate. But it is possible that the thermostat is stuck open. Does the upper radiator hose get hot after engine warmed up? Also feel both heater hoses-when engine is warm, both should be hot-indicating the coolant is circulating through the heater core. If heater hoses are hot, and you still have cold air, the temperature blend door on the heater case may not be operating.
Try a new thermostat and see if engine warms up faster and better.

Why wont the heater blow out hot air in my 1995 pontiac bonneville. it will only blow cool air

If the heater hoses are getting hot, the problem may be a faulty blend door under the dash. The blend doors direct air thru the heater core and the vents.

I was driving my 2000 Pontiac Montana with my heater on then all of a sudden it stop blowing hot air. Only cold air would come out of the vents.

ensure the coolent water level in your car system is full.
the heater radiator is set higher than the main system so when the water gets low there
is none in the heater.

as the fault came suddenly it also maybe the heater control switch or the thermostat has a problem
and has shut off the heat. check fuses to ensure there is not a problem there.

I hope this was helpful.

Check all your fittings and connections around the heater core. If those are good, time to replace the heater core.

I would change the Thermostat. if that doesn't fix it? I would buy a Radiator flush and follow the directions exactly you will be surprised how much junk comes out. That should fix all your heat problems.

2002 Dodge Ram 1500 - The heater blows cold air when it sits at idle but blows warm air when it is being driven down the road. A/C does the opposite, doesn't blow cold air when diling, but I figured this...

the heater blowing cold at an Idle and warm while driving it,is usually low coolant in the radiator, remove the radiator cap when engine is cold, fill to the top,and fill overflow tank to full,if that doesn't take care of it,check the heater hoses at an idle and see if they are both the same temp,it might be a water pump not doing its job.
