Question about 2001 Dodge Durango

I have a 2001 dodge durango and the front ac /heater blower does not blow, the rear works fine. I checked the fuses and it still doesn't turn on. Currently, the heat does come off the vent in the front BUT it does NOT blow.

Blower stopped blowing. Local mechanic replaced resistor $78.00. works like it should now....

I do not have any heat/air in the front. The blower motor will not blow at all (the blower motor has been tested and it is fine). Air will blow in the back but its always luke warm no matter if is heat or air.

I would have to say the resistor also. Cheap part and the labor is free when you do it yourself. It should be located behind your glovebox.

I just had this issue too. But my wires for the resistor melted, come to find out the blower motor brushes were bad. I replaced the blower motor the resistor and the pigtail all for under $90 by using Amazon.com to get the parts

2003 Dodge Durango SLT, A/C Problem

The rear A/C system in the Durango has its own AC and heater core like the front system does. There is a plastic flapper valve back there that either directs the air to one or the other depending on what you have selected up front.

While the part is not too expensive, the labor to get there requires removal of the interior panel on that side which is not fun. It can be done though.

99 Dodge durango heater not working

The blowers ion the back have there own blower motor. The front has it's own. The resister controls the range the blower motor runs on,( low, medium, high). If the blower motor is not working it may be the motor itself. Was the fuse checked:?

Front Blower

ok, missed the part about the rear ac working, the part that causes this is called the air temperature control blend door actuator motor, it is an electric motor driven gear drive that moves the plastic door inside the air ducking to mix or shut off the hot or cold air from the ac evaporator core or the heater core, you will need to replace it.

My front blower in my 2001 durango is not blowing any air.

Check your owners manual, and locate the fuse for the front blower motor.Pull the fuse and see if it is blown, If not check for power (+12 v )and ground at the motor plug-in located close to the blower motor.
Please rate this.

No rear heat

The rear vent system has a separate heater core/blower system. heater core could be plugged up or the coolant lines going to rear heater core are plugged. could also be low coolant/faulty water pump not producing enough pressure, or air in the cooling system which will need to be bled if so.

2001durango slt no heat in front

I have a 2001 Black Durango that had the same problem. There is a resister to the right of the ac/heat blower (underneath the dash on passaenger side). This needs to be replaced. You might want to replace the motor as well. Both are real easy. I had replaced the resister first and everthing worked fine for about 6 months and then my ac/heat would only works on high. I replaced the motor and now it works just fine. The resister was about $15 at dealership and the motor is prob around $40-$50. I hopes this helps. Good Luck!
