From my experience, the halo is what detects the rf signal from the head of the key. the halo (or transreiver ring) is located around the key cylinder. it could be malfunctioning. also, some keys have a capsule inside them that generates the signal. i have seen some keys where the capsule falls out. do you have another key and does it work. do you have a remote start system on your truck? hope this helps

I do believe the FORD is located under ther hood either on the firewall or on L/S wheel housing. Have encountered many , many faulty control modules. There came a time if you came across a Ford product with a no start, you automatically suspected it, and 90% of the time you were right.

sound like voltage regulator problems.alternator field grounded.open rectifier.loose connections.make sure your wires not loose. also have autozone or advance auto. check out alternator before replacing it.
