SOURCE: winshield wiper try to move but wont, the last

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. It sounds like your transmission in the wiper motor is slipping or broke. I would think you probably need a new one. But before, check your fuses. It could also be your actual wiper switch that is broke. But hearing what you said, I would think it is the motor.

Windsheild wiper won't turn off

The electrical mechanism has a rotating arm with a wiper contact, whose objective is to prevent the wipers stopping in the middle of their travel, thus this small wiper contact continues to supply current to the wiper's motor until they reach the end position. From time to time, the wiper (or the electrical track support) rotates out of proper alignment, and just keeps the winshield wipers running. you need to disassemble the motor of the wipers, inside there is a small arm with a contact point, it need to be realigned. It is not difficult, but some dexterity is needed to be able to properly reassemble the motor.

Winshield wiper won't work

This may be a linkage problem. The linkage is what keeps the wipers in sync and from your description that may be where the problem is

Intermittent problems with our windscreen wipers - what can it be?

You could have corrosion in your fuse box. Alternatively get a good battery from someone and drive with it in your car for a day or two. It could be that the battery can't handle multiple electronic device at the same time. Go have a look at the VW Polo site perhaps they may have encountered your problem http://volkswagen-polo-highline.blogspot.com

You likely don't need a new motor. You just have to get your wipers repacked with grease.

Windshield wipers work intermittent

Typical problem is the pulse board on the wiper motor fails on this year of truck. I have had both a 97 and 98 K1500 and had to replace on both. Sometimes the wipers would work, sometimes they would quit when I was driving. Part is less than $50 at auto parts stores. Follow the instructions included. Requires removing 4-5 torx (star) head screws. Takes less than 10 minutes.
