Question about 2003 Acura 3.2TL

1 Answer

The drawer above the radio is stuck and doesn't come out anymore. There is a spring mechanism (similar to a ball point pen) that allows you to push in the drawer to get it in or out. The drawer holds a pen, a few gift cards, and some emergency cash. Is there a simply trick to get it out or do I have to take apart the whole dash?

Tap it briskly and with medium force. If it doesn't come out, then remove the dash panel and take it out from behind.

Why is gear shift stuck in park?

Check and see if rear brake lights are not working. If not working brake pedal switch id defective. Do Not go to dealer for repair. The will charge you over $100 for diagnostics and over $200 to replace switch. Go to reliable parts store purchase after market switch for between $16 and $35. Go to a local mechanic and have him put it in for you, labor will be about 1/2 hour or less. There is a small "door" located near the gear shift indicator on the console. It is about as large as a standard ball point pen. Using a ball point pen, insert it through the spring loaded door and gently pushing straight down while pressing on the brake pedal, you can now move gear shift lever out of part into reverse, neutral or drive. You will need to repeat this process until you replace the brake pedal switch.

Is a suspension spring compressing tool needed to change lower control arm/ball joint front

usually when the spring is above and over the upper control arm you jack the center of the car up until the wheel clears the ground.
At that point the lower ball joint can be removed. Hope this helps.

Upper and lowere control arm replacement

Where you buy your ball joints usually will rent (for free, just pay for it and then return it is what they do) a ball joint press. It's an easy job if you have any mechanical skills at all. The strut is what keeps the pressure on the spring, using the weight of the vehicle to compress the spring, just undo the strut, raise vehicle and the spring will relax and you can remove the upper control arm.

How can i replace the ball joint on my ford fiesta 02 model , it is rivetted on the lower arm.

Front suspension parts eventually wear out, but this sudden onset of slop in your ball joint probably means a lubrication failure. But wait! you say. My ball joints are sealed--there's no grease fitting to pump fresh lubricant into. They're Lubed For Life, like it says right here in the owner's manual. You've just discovered the true life span of a permanently lubed suspension joint. The lubrication finally dries out, water intrudes inside the boot covering the moving parts, and rust and abrasive road dirt turn a ball joint or tie rod end into a loosey-goosey accident waiting to happen. Do not delay in repairing a failing ball joint or tie rod end. When it fails, the wheel involved will try to part company with your vehicle, and not quite succeed in doing so. This will precipitate two unfortunate events: loss of control at some speed, and considerable damage to the rest of the vehicle. If your vehicle has a strut-type suspension, or any other type of suspension system that doesn't involve the need to compress the springs and unload the control arms, you can easily replace the worn-out part using simple hand tools. If your vehicle uses upper and lower control arms, you'll need a spring compressor. You can rent one, but in this case we suggest you shop this procedure out to a professional mechanic. The energy stored in the spring is more than adequate to put a hurtin' on you. If the spring compressor slips, parts will fly out of the wheel well at ballistic velocities--probably right at an important part of your body, like your face. Some vehicles, particularly high-end cars, use a sophisticated rear-end suspension setup that may use ball-type joints, and the principles we're talking about here may apply. As always, consult the shop manual for specificsOne suggestion: If one joint has failed, the other is probably not far behind. As long as you have the tools out and your hands dirty, you may as well do both sidesWe recommend purchasing aftermarket premium-quality ball joints. Odds are they will outlast the OEM parts because they almost always have a grease fitting installed.

How to connect aftermarket radio into 2002 toyota camry JBL radio (the standart wiring doesn't work). Thanks

Your aftermarket radio should have color-coded wires which identifies power, ground, speakers, etc. most depaetment stores carry a radio harness adapter kit. This will connect to your radio's exact color coded wires, and will plug right in to your factory's wiring plug. And don't forget electrical tape.

I don't know how to change the time on my Chrysler Pacifica's digital clock.

If it's the round on near top of dash take a ball point pen and push the round circle next to the clock. If it's the one in the radio push button that says time then push the h button one the m button with ball point pen just like the top on before the display changes away from the time of day
