SOURCE: Trouble Code p1004
This from an owner with the same code, indeed it is the intake maniflod that causes the issue.
P1004 is a intakemanifold short runner valve performance. they replaced the intake manifold plenum. cost $1200, but they repaired under warranty in the interest of customer satisfaction. my base warranty is out by milage, yet they repaired it for free. now that is a great dealership. I would talk to the dealer, this is a manufactirer defect, also it may be covered under federal emission warr. 7/70,000

Is it losing coolant? If yes posible weep hole on the water pumpAre the radiator fans switching on? The constantant control module (or similar nomenclature) may not be telling them to come on.
It's a dumb question, but...are you sure that when you replaced the T-stat you put it in right side up? Spring side toward the engine and you can see the triangular shaped arch before you put the cover on. Fixed that probably a dozen or more times. Those are the inexpensive do it your self fixes. If these don't work or apply. Check and see if the cooling system holds pressure. You can get a loaner at any chain autoparts store.or take your car to the shop and pay fifty or a hundred bucks for the diagnosis.

With out being able to see it sounds like you have a misadjusted or broken park lock cable. there is a cable that locks shifter in park unless Brake pedal is depressed. So if you are pressing the brake and can not shift into a gear. that would be the first place I would check

The warrenty should cover this problem. The oil pressure is a very important part of the powertrain.
As for the engine cutoff, this may be caused by the
powertrain control module shutting down the engine
due to little or no oil pressure to prevent serious
damage. This could be as simple as a bad oil pressure sending unit. But it could also be the oil
pump. In any case I would talk to the crysler dealer
to avoid voiding the warrenty. Hope this helps.
