already replaced 5 k ago... labor was like 4 hrs lol altho it only took me 2. those make a noise more when you turn. this is purely having to do with putting the truck in gear.

Might also be a motor mount. just have someone watch the motor as you put into gear. pay attention to the mounts as you shift a couple of times

Sounds more like a universal joint. Should be a inexpensive fix have it checked soon or you will need to add the price of a tow to the repair bill. part should not be over $30 each x 2 labor should not be much more than an hour.

I am referring to the universal joints in the rear drive shaft. I believe what you are talking about are the universal joints in the front axle as that would be related to a noise when you turn. To check the rear drive shaft universal joints trig the wheels on the truck put in neutral get under truck grab the drive shaft and turn it back and forth while watching the joint if there is any play they need to be changed.

I have an 02 Dodge Ram 15002wd.I just had the front end aligned and new tires put on.Drives straight as an arrow problem is when I go over small bumps there is a constant clanking noise like something is...

Get it up on a ramp , Clank / Knocking can come from anything underneath , SILENCER, EXAHUST PIPES. If the clanking happened since your repair , and not before , take it back to the Garage / Workshop and tell them about the problem

2006 escape clanks when backing up

Cv axles normally click repetedly when moving ,doesn't sound like an axle, more like a motor mount or brake calpier .If you put your foot on the brake with the hood open ,put the truck in reverse and put a load on it and then in drive and load it you will be able to see the engine rock excessivly if a mount is bad.

Jeep is leaking fluid from underneath, and oil pressure fluctuating, transmission sounds loose or something. hear a clank when automatic shifts gears. what could be going on?

You may have a few separate issues. You need to determine the source of the fluid loss and exactly what kind of fluid it is that is leaking. From what you said, it may be the oil pressure sending unit, or that and something else. The clank shifting could be a bad universal joint on the driveshaft. Check those with the suspension unloaded or have someone watch from the side underneath to see if there is excessive movement in each joint as you move from reverse to drive.
Difficult to diagnose your problem on-line as seeing the problem is the key to fixing it. If you can't find it, have a professional do that for still have the option of doing the work yourself!

Loud clank from manual tranny

Sounds like you either chipped a tooth of one of the gears or something came loose inside. I would not drive it at all You could make it a whole lot worse if there is a good sized chunk of metal floating around in there. Take it to transmission shop or better yet have it towed!!! If whatever is in there lodges between a couple of the gears you will be spending a lot more money trying to get it repaired. Good luck!

Rattling from under the hood

I would start by splitting up the drive train to determine if it is accessory, engine or transmission related.
There are a number of things that can cause a problem like this.
1) Is the noise louder in drive or reverse.
2) I would start with heat-shields because of your "clank" description. Exhaust manifold, catalytic converter shields and any other you can find under hood or under body.
3) If all is good, check engine and transmission mounts. Make certain none have collapsed, cracked or broken.
4) If all good, remove all accessory drive belts and start engine to see if noise goes away.
That's a lot to start with, so let me know what you find and we will go from there.
