Air bag light flashes 5 times then 1 time

That flashing indicates fault code 51. Fault code 51 indicates a problem with the driver's seat belt circuit. The seat belt buckle has a switch in it to determine if the belt is buckled up when the seat is occupied [determined by a pressure sensor in the seat bottom]. The switch in the buckle is either bad or the wiring to the switch is either short or open circuited.
Use of a computer scan tool can help narrow down the problem. There are four different scan tool fault codes relating to code 51. They are B2432, B2433, B2434 & B2435. These codes will give you more defined information on the actual fault. Most common faults are either a bad switch in the seat belt buckle or damaged wiring to that switch. Damaged wiring is usually caused by the driver placing objects under the driver's seat, which damage the wiring coming out of the seat belt. It is also possible to have a bad seat belt computer [Restraints Control Module or RCM]. A bad RCM is not common. Check for damage to the seat belt wiring under the driver's seat. Best to remove the seat and lift up the carpeting to do this. If no physical damage or water corrosion damage is present, replace the seat belt. After repairs, disconnect the battery for 1 minute to clear the fault code from the RCM's memory.

High pitched engine squeal upon start up, then goes away I'm thinking bad pulley

All though the solutions above are possible, the squeal usually just means one of your belts is getting going bad.

Pop the hood, and turn your belt slightly (the thinner one, not the timing belt) and see if the bottom side is looking 'glazed' or if there are intermittent cracks. You may need a flashlight to determine this.

If the belt is bad, some times you can just loosen the alternator and get the belt off. Some cars require a lot more work. Don't be surprised if the mechanic tries to get you to replace the water pump at the same time when you take the car in to get the belt replaced.

Depending on your financial situation at the time, it may be a good idea to replace the water pump if you have gone 5 years or more on rhe current one.

Hope this helps, all the best to you,

How can I check to see if the timing belt is bad on a 2004 Toyota Sequoia? I drove it at lunch time and when I went to leave work it wouldn't start. Checked the battery and charged it, tried to

agree that starter is bad. to know if timing belt is starting to get bad is just look at the belt. if it is getting bad, there will be small cracks on the inside of the belt.

What is the timing for a 1994 mercury tracer trio. i belive i have to replace the timing belt and the water pump. im not sure tho bc the feul cut off came on first than after i filled it up it went off. im...

First check to make sure the fuel shutoff is still on. When the engine jumps timing it is usually caused by either the water pump bearings went bad and seized or fell apart. The other is when the belt is old or excessively worn and breaks. Timing marks are dependent on engine size. 1.9 engines have single cam and all marks point straight up. 1.8 is more detailed depending on if it has 1 or 2 cams.

Car wont crank: code that comes up says crank sensor: timing belt also has a lil play: not tightly secured

Odds are, if the code says a bad crankshaft sensor, then that's exactly what the problem is.

As to your comment about the timing belt.

Are you sure you really mean the timing belt?

It seems unlikely to me that you would have removed the timing belt cover, in order to make this determination.

I'm more inclined to believe you are talking about the accessory drive belt (AKA serpentine belt) that drives things like the alternator, AC compressor, power steering pump, etc.

This is on the outside of the engine and is plainly visible. A small amount of play isn't unusual.

Drove it home everything was ok! went out the next

sounds like a broken timing belt, timing belts like to break during engine cranking and engine shut down. there are inspection holes in the timing cover,if you can't determine, remove top half of timing cover and check belt for slap,if there's slap,it's broke.
