Question about 2006 Toyota Sienna

1 Answer

I have a 2006 Toyota Sienna. When I adjust the automatic or manual heat settings, I hear a constant actuator noise from both the passenger and drivers sides and unless I turn up the heat to 78 degrees or warmer no driver side heat will come out of the top vent (no issues with the passenger side same high vent). When I turn off the vehicle, the actuator noise continues for a minute or two. Any ideas what has failed or how to correct it? I haven't had any service on the vehicle in over a year and have 98k miles on the vehicle.

There's a chance that the actuator motor has either failed, or it's nylon gear has worn out. You will have to pull it out and inspect.

SOURCE: airbag says off

Usualy there is a key hole located near where the passenger air bag off light is. All you do is find the key hole, insert your ignition key and turn to reactivate the air bag. If this doesn't help, i would make a quick phone call to your nearest toyota dealership, and ask for service.
Good luck!

the noise you can hear is the lock/opening actuater, have to strip out door panel and see if the actuater mechanism is intact, and operate as before and look to see what part is trying to move, it may just need lubricating but be prepared to have to have new lock actuator

2004 Toyota sienna blend door actuator intermittent problems

I know this post is old but for those of you experiencing this clicking noise it appears from my research so far that it is the actuator that moves the blend door. A couple of people even repaired the motor assembly because it appears to slip where the motor drive connects to the worm gear. If you search sienna ac actuator you can find the videos, I belive one guy was named Froggy. My passenger is stuck on cold and the driver side makes noise when moving to cold, the driver side also seems to hesitate going to warm. It's $120 for a replacement actuator. I'm really close to changing it, you just have to make sure the door and motor arm Match positions for it to work right. The dealer seems hesitant to replace it since they are worried it may be loose foam in the blender box. The box costs $3500 to replace though since its buried in the dash, and from what I've seen researching this the actuator is a possible issue in multiple models as well as Lexus vehicles and some other brands.

My heater doesnt work

Sounds like the heater blend door. The actuator may be stuck or broken. The actuator opens and closes to adjust for the heat setting in the car. You might be able to take a coathanger and manually open the door if you can get to the control arm. They are usually hard to get to and pretty expensive. It is located under the dash at the heater core box. Good luck.

2006 Toyota Sienna noisy ride

Sounds like you have an aerodynamic noise issue.

I assume that your vehicle has a roof rack.
Loosen the front cross bar, and move it backward. See if the noise "moves" backwards. If it does, remove the crossbar, it comes off from the back of the roofrack; turn it around and reinstall it.
