Question about 1994 Dodge Grand Caravan
I just aquired a 1990 Grand Caravan Handicapped van. I want to remove the rear seat, but have not been able to. I've been told that the seats will come out easily.
The rear seat has three levers. One that allows the seat to move forward and backwards, and two others on each side of the front of the seat that appears to latch in some way. Also I've noticed that the seats main tracks are bolted to the floor with four bolts. I'm thinking that the bolts have to be removed in order to remove the seat. Am I right? If you could give some pointers I'd appreciate it.
If yours is a Braun Entervan conversion and the spare tire has been relocated to the inside rear behind the seat, your rear seats will not come out, they are bolted to the floor. From the factory, they are designed to unlatch and come out, but after the conversion, the undercarriage of your van is completely different, especially if you have a lowered floor, and even more so if you have a kneeling van. If you unbolt the rear seats, you will have to bolt them back in, they're not quick releae anymore. If you van floor is lowered (usually about 10") "High Water" has a whole new meaning for you, it doesn't have to be very high at all to flood your interior.
