Question about 2005 Volkswagen New Beetle

Lacks power doesn't want to pull a hill. Runs okay on the highway, but doesn't want to climb any hills. No misfire, no check engine light.

Car want pulls hills or any inclines vey well 2005

P0304 code is a cylinder 4 misfire. If the plugs or wires are bad it will cause a decrease in power. I suggest changing the plugs and wires and see if that helps.

Coil pack should in the front top of motor, with engine running remove one spark plug wire at a time from coil pack ( careful not to get shock ) they should all have spark, if one don't replace coil pack.

On long pull service engine light will flash then go off after hill is climbed runs fine will not store code

This is normally caused by the O2 sensor detecting a fluctuation in the readings beyond the set limits for your engine. Very normal especially when driving over hills.

1995 Grand Cherokee no power especially up hills

You may want to check engine performance. If you have any problem with either the fuel (including filter) or ignition system (including timing chain) the transmission will react to the subsequent lack of power, in order to maximize remaining power... This includes early downshifts.
good luck
