SOURCE: Subaru Loyale 1994 Heating fan quit working

one of two solutions:

The contacts on your fan switch are bad, or you striped the knob and it won't turn the switch on, or the big bad one...your fan motor has decided it needs a vacation.

Hope this helps you, and I hope it's just the knob is stripped..it's the lesor of two evils

SOURCE: fan blower stopped working

I had the same problem and Ia m working to resolve it.
You need to remove the blover under the glove box it's very easy to remove. 1) remove the glove box, 2) the metalic suport that it's hold by 4 screws and finally remove the 3 screws that holds the blower. Take it off and remove the coverplate of the motor ( 2 screws) and
check the brushes. In my case they were worn out. So you need to buy a new motor with the blower aprox $50 or try to replace the brushes.

SOURCE: 1995 Subaru Impreza wagon - heater fan

Mine use to work on high only. It was the switch cylinders, something like that. It was an easy fix. Now my blower motor works intermittently. If I kick it, it turns back on. It is located on the passenger side close to the door side directly above your feet (below the jockey box). Kick straight up. If you need to replace it it is also an easy do-it-yourself repair. Make sure before you go out and replace your blower motor that you check your switch. A lot of repair shops will replace the motor w/o checking the switch, you end up paying for 2 repairs. You can make sure it's not the switch by jumping (bypassing) the switch. You apply jumper wires (not cables) directly to the motor, if the motor turns on you know it's the switch.

My windows are not defrosting properly.

Do you have heat? Does the fan turn on? are you getting air from the defroster vents close to the windshield? If you have heat make sure the defrost control is working. I'd open the outside air vent and turn the blower on high speed. If there is no heat, the heater control valve is not working. Double check the radiator fluid tank, make sure you have enough fluid (antifreeze) Low fluid levels can reduce the hot water flow to the heater coil inside the car. If there
is no air flow through the defroster vents you may have a problem with the fan control, or the fan motor. Good luck.

No heat in car back defrost works fine?

I had a similar problem with two different cars. Mice had somehow got into the heater ducting and built nests. This will plug up the ducting, or if nest is next to the heater fan, it can keep fan blades or the squirrel cage fan from turning. If that is the problem, you'll need to take some of the ducting apart and clear the obstruction. Good luck.

Defrost Problems the window freezes up from the outter edges In..

The rear window defrost could be a fuse or relay, if you have the owners manual that will show you which fuse or relay it is.
Is the engine temperature getting up to normal? Where do you have the heater controls set, are you pulling fresh air in from outside, or are you recycling the air inside the car? You have to pull in outside air, or the windows will continue to fog up. That car has a "Cabin Filter" which fiters the air coming into the heater system from outside. Have you ever changed that? It's usually located under the panel by the right windshield wiper. Check the owners manual that should tell you about it. No owners manual go to? car-parts.com, That will give a list on the salvage yards in you area that have a used manual.

For 2001 Forrester Subaru - Front Windshield Washer fuse

If it makes noise, it's not the fuse. Most likely the discharge nozzles are stopped up. Try blowing compressed air into them from the outside.

Front blower is out for heat and air, back works fine

Have the front heater core flushed ,since there is heat to the rear the thermostat is fine so it could be plugged. If the fan works on no speeds the check the fuse for the heater fan,if it's good you neerd a blower motor.

Defroster

Yeks, quick (when engine cool) make sure your radiator is FULL and engine is AIR BLED at the thermastadt. If your master brake cylinder is assisted power your DIAPHARM could be ruptured. Causes low vac in system so heater controls only work at idle the changes to cold when driving

Defroster, heater, vents, airconditionig not working when turned on

With the engine off, radio too, turn the key on and try the heater fan on all speeds. No fan, check the fuses. Fan is ok, check the coolant level, if thats fine, then check for a mouse nest in the duct work. Frankster016
