My 2005 Pacifica clock will not hold time it loses it every time you turn the key off

I feel your clock is hooked up wrong.
There are circuits in you van that are live all the time, and that is where the clock should be wired.
It sounds like it is wired to the key switch circuit, which shuts off when the engine stops.
I would take the car to a Chrysler dealer, because doing-it-yourself could be really dangerous.

I changed battery, set clock but cannot get the : between the hour and minutes to stop blinking....seems to be losing a little time.

most clocks have the : blinking to show that the clock is working and not in set mode. clocks work of a crystal in the system so that the frequency is set . some clocks have a external device to make small adjustments to clock accuracy. If this is a clock in a vehicle have the voltage to the clock checked as any variation to 12.5 volts will affect the operation of the clock. Any dirty, corroded, loose connections will create a resistance to the current and lower the voltage.

I got a chevy equinox 2006 everytime I start it the clock resets to 12? What is the problem?

the clock must supply directly from the battery , if no anytime when you switch on and of the clock come back to 12 and lose the memory. Is not difficult but need time to find the wire from clock and connect to an permanent 12 volt supply somewhere on the board , consumption is very small few miliamps.

This is a common problem among on some of the Japanese automobiles (Hyundai may be included) that have seen some time in service. The clock module becomes intermittent or dead after a few years of service. There needs to be a constant power wire for the clock in order for the clock to keep time. You are losing power completely when you shut off the engine. Changed your battery lately or had a car stereo installed?

Check your fuses, you may have one blown that controls the constant voltage to the units which rewuire memory, and therefore need 12v all the time.
