That is the check engine light. Read on.

When the service engine soon light a yellow light (Also called the check engine light or engine management light) is turned on this is to alert you to the fact that Powertrain Control Module (computer) has detected a failure somewhere in the systems it controls you may not feel any difference in the way the engine runs, this can be the transmission or the engine or emission system, there are fault codes set in the modules memory for these faults. What needs to happen now is to have the powertrain control module scanned with a special tool called an OBD2 electronic engine control scanner or a OBD2 code reader. Once the code(s) are read then you must perform the diagnostics for each code and make the appropriate repairs based on the findings of the diagnosis that was performed, this is called doing "Pinpoint" testing.

How do I find out why my front passenger window wont go up in a 2004 ford sport trac

check fuses for window. if ok remove door panel, use test light on connector to motor, down will light on one wire and up will light the other. if there is power try tapping the motor and see if it works, if it does or doesnt it needs a motor and I would recommend replacing the regulator as well. if no power to motor check wiring in door jam its covered with accordion looking boot. pull boot back and look for broken wires. this usually fixes the problem.

I need to know what a window regulator/motor look like on a 2005 dakota. Mine stopped running and I currently have a stuck window...Rear driver side. The dealer can fix it next week, they sid th...

Look the part up on napa on line,it will show a picture of it.Most of the time the cables break, and can not be repaired,so you have to replace the whole window regulator.Look at the dome light, and activate the window switch,if the dome light dims, just a little, then the motor is getting power, but it can still be the motor ,or the regulator binding. If the dome light does not dim,at all,it is most likely not getting power to the motor, but not always.Sometimes the slamming of the door will make the window start working again,if the brushes in the motor are bad,or the bushings .

When put into 4 wheel drive, my 1998 ford 150's indicator lights come on, but the 4 wheel drive will not engage

sounds like the drive motor on the transfer case is stuck in one position. On the the transfer case there is a small motor that looks like a window motor, you could try getting the indicator on, and lightly tapping the motor to see if the armature is stuck.

Passenger window motor shows no sign of life. Dome light dims slightly when window switch is engaged.

Looks as thought your geting power to the switch and motor thats why it dims the light, sounds like the window motor is tied up.

2000 v10 250 wont come out of 4wheel drive seems to be stuck in 4w hi grabbs on sharp turns inside selector works

push button 4-wheel drive??? If so maybe the transfer case motor? look on back of transfer case for something that looks like a window motor.... have a friend, while on level surface in nuetral with brake depressed, try pushing 2-wheel button while you lightly tap on side of window motor with light weight hammer or wrench. If this doesnt work then motor may be bad.

I am looking for a place to plug in an extra plug under dash( blower motor does not run)

If its anything like a 95 model, that unused plug near the blower motor is used when setting the timing on the vehicle. It removes the ignition advance from the distributor. I would be careful about experimenting like that.
To troubleshoot your blower motor, go buy a cheap test light and unplug your motor plug. Connect the test light. Turn on your motor switch. If it lights when connected properly, the motor is bad. If not you have other issues. Could be a relay or resistor module. Just takes a little more troubleshooting.

Sunroof motor burnout while open

Pull thte headliner down and look at the motor. there is always a way to close or open it manually. Most are done with a small socket such as a 8mm. But always there is a way. Just remember to look before you start pulling the headliner down. It may be nessecary to remove items such as the light and even the visors. Hope it helps
