  • Anonymous Feb 18, 2009

    2003 2lt Electronic Auto/Manual .....Same issue....clunkie down
shift...ended up distroying second gear clutch .... replaced
Gearbox....Peugeot replaced part as faulty...G/Box oil pump housing
fractured...produced metal finds throughout the box...reuined gear
chang clutch.... there is also a software upgrade to the box we
had....korean built...I am told the French built box is the best one to
get....Once the problem starts...if its mechanical...there is no fix
apart from replacing the box. It is a SEALED unit....you cant even
check the oil....Peugeot will need an oil sample and someone with an
analysis mechine to determine th eproblem...it will cost you a
    heep........

Not a transmission problem
it is an electronic control problem or dirty transmission oil
have the fault codes read to determine which sensor, servo or solenoid is faulty
take it to an accredited professional auto transmission specialist shop for a proper diagnosis

SOURCE: "when do i change the cam belt on a peugeot 307 sw diesel"

usually you should do it for peugeot diesel at 122000 miles along with water pump and the tensioner roller that runs under the cambelt too. But to be on the safe side do it at 100000 and save the fortune.
It took me (DIY job) about 6-8 hours as i wanted to save 450 pounds.

SOURCE: WHISTLING BELOW TURBO

Its surely not turbo, its is somewhere a hole or leak in turbo air filter housing or air inlet pipe that is making noises when turbo sucks air. check the air pipes wheather they are fitted correctly. Take a keen look at air hose and close any hole with silver tape check the hose is fitted correctly in Turbo air filter housing (if not then it makes whistling noise when air is being sucked by turbo) . Clean all air filters and then give it a go.

peugeot and citreon cars do bite high generaly, it is hydaulic there is no adjustment. but it also depends on how high it is ?? does it slip if you slightly rest your foot on whilst driving?? they do have a problem with the bearings going through the cover as it is the same bearing as a HDI . but you woud notice this as a different problem. ie noise or vibration on pedal. call me for more info .. paul @ the clutch centre..01527 64440 07790438337

Would anybody have any ideas as to why I am having intermittent gear box jamming can't get into 1st, 3rd or 5th on my Peugeot 307 2006?

You most likely have two problems. 1. The throw out bearing is probably bad, and 2. This has caused some gear shearing within the gear box. Best fix is to have the gear box removed, cleaned, check for chipped, cracked gear teeth, and replace with good gears. Also, check the synchronizer , make sure it is in good working order.

How to fill transmission oil in Peugeot 307 automatic gearbox

The drain plug on the bottom of the gear box has two parts the the outer hex if removed will drain the box, and the centre hex when removed is for filling the transmition via a tube inserted into it, and fluid pumped in until it runs out, you must check the level with the gear in park and the engine running.

if you do a google search you can find a diagram showing how it works, I'm sorry I don't have a diagram to show you
let me know how you get on
