What is the fuel quality? If you had gasoline with ethanol additive sitting in the tank for months, it will be very difficult to get it to burn at a fast enough rate to run the engine. Broken-down gasoline is straw-yellow in color and does not have as strong an odor as fresh gasoline. It may also contain solid sediments that can clog carburetors or fuel injectors. If your fuel is degraded, change the fuel filter, drain the tank, and try again with fresh fuel. A quick test for this condition is to spray starter fluid or WD-40 into the throttle body. If the engine starts quickly, then runs poorly or dies when the starter fluid is exhausted, your problem is bad fuel.

Hi, yes there is. To release the trunk - look on the centre console, just rearward of the front seats and you will notice a separate rectangular section in the plastic, if you lift this out you will find a cable release for the trunk underneath. To open the fuel filler cap manually, look inside the car just behind the rear light on the same side as the fuel filler and you will notice a flap in the interior trim, which is to allow access to the rear lamp. Open this and then looking towards the top you should see a loop of orange plastic - pull this towards the rear of the car to release the fuel filler.
Hope that helps Matt..
disconnecting the battery in a 2001 does nothing for the light reset.. that only works on 95 and older units.....sounds as though you triggered the security system....you can try to shut all doors and with key lock and unlock then lock and unlock the drivers doors attempting to reset the alarm... if no good stick key in ignition and turn to the run position let stand for 10 minutes. then turn key off. exit car unlock and lock door again then try to start if no good let me know
The insert or cartridge filters are easy to change..You must jack up the front of the car, remove the engine belly pan. in the front of the motor there is a black cylindrical housing for the oil filter cartridge..On the bottom is a cap that just screws off..Unscrew the cap, take it off, slide the old insert off, then slide the new one on..Screw the cap back on and voila! you are finished..If the insert came with a new rubber o-ring, make sure to replace the old one on the cap.
On a 2001 Audi TT Quattro the fuel filter is located forward of the fuel tank, in the right rear wheel well area. The fuel line clamps are a bit tricky. The change will improve performance. The owners manual does not even list changing the filter. But do it! use a Fram, and it fit perfectly. Good luck.
