Wild guess, connecting wires are bad, possibly break in wire? Is coolant level ok? Clearing codes are sometimes tricky. I keep haveing to relearn how to clear. Disconnecting battery overnight may clear, but usually bother's radio security code.

"Tire Pressure Sensor Fault" keeps coming on on my message center, each time I start the car

You need to put a scanner on the computer and read the codes, then repair the codes called for and using the scanner clear the codes and you will be ok. The button on the message center doesn't reset the computer it just clears the code from the screen.

What is the problem when the sensor on the car reads "a/c off to protect ingine"

Hi there:

You almost certainly have a stuck open thermostat causing a fault code store which will disable the a/c. It will also default the temp gauge to the cold position.
You will need to scanning the vehicle for the fault code and cleared. Replacing the thermostat and clearing the fault code should take care of your concern. I have seen a few with a slewed reading of the coolant temp sensor but that is a bit rare.

Make sure the radiator is full (you mentioned changing the thermostat, did you bleed any trapped air) and make sure you're getting power to the fan(s). Make sure you don't have a blown fuse in the underhood fuse box. If one is blown, you also need to find out why it blew in the first place.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

How to clear code 118 and 224 on 1994 ranger

Ford Ranger/Explorer/Mountaineer 1991-1999
Clearing Codes

Print

CONTINUOUS MEMORY CODES

These codes are retained in memory for 40 warm-up cycles. To clear the codes for the purposes of testing or confirming repair, perform the code reading procedure. When the fault codes begin to be displayed, de-activate the test by either disconnecting the jumper wire (meter, MIL or message center) or releasing the test button on the hand scanner. Stopping the test during code transmission will erase the Continuous Memory. Do not disconnect the negative battery cable to clear these codes; the Keep Alive memory will be cleared and a new code, 19, will be stored for loss of PCM power.

KEEP ALIVE MEMORY

The Keep Alive Memory (KAM) contains the adaptive factors used by the processor to compensate for component tolerances and wear. It should not be routinely cleared during diagnosis. If an emissions related part is replaced during repair, the KAM must be cleared. Failure to clear the KAM may cause severe driveability problems since the correction factor for the old component will be applied to the new component.
To clear the Keep Alive Memory, disconnect the negative battery cable for at least 5 minutes. After the memory is cleared and the battery reconnected, the vehicle must be driven at least 10 miles so that the processor may relearn the needed correction factors. The distance to be driven depends on the engine and vehicle, but all drives should include steady-throttle cruise on open roads. Certain driveability problems may be noted during the drive because the adaptive factors are not yet functioning

How to turn off check engine light on a 1997 dodge neon

You will require an error code reading machine, Which can be bought from car auto stores at low prices, You only need a cheap one to read the current error codes if you are sure everything has been fixed then clear error codes saved onto car system, However investigate each error code so you don't keep resetting the light when its coming on due to a fault with the engine.
